PRINCE Harry and Meghan’s new chief of staff has resigned just days before their “fake royal tour” in Colombia.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were personally invited to spend a few days in Colombia by the country’s vice president, Francia Márquez.

It is understood they will take a flight this summer, in November, when their schedule will include trips to the capital Bogotá and the Pacific regions of Cartagena and Cali.

The pair intend to “experience Colombia’s rich heritage” on a visit that has been dubbed a “fake real” tour.

And the vice-president also said she was “confident” that the Sussexes’ visit “will shine a light on Colombia’s role as a beacon of culture and innovation”.

But just days before the trip, Chief of Staff Josh Kettler steps into his role after just three months.

Kettler, an experienced PR professional, was with Prince Harry on his recent rare visit to London to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Invictus Games.

He was photographed entering St Paul’s Cathedral with the Duke for the ceremony which was attended by some senior figures, including Harry’s uncle and Princess Diana’s brother Earl Spencer, but was not attended by any other members. of the royal family.

Kettler was also a key figure on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s three-day Nigeria “tour” and was at Harry’s side when he met with government officials.

Appointed just a few months ago, Kettler was reportedly brought in to “guide him through his next phase” but left the prince in the lurch ahead of a major international visit.

It is understood that Mr Kettler’s departure was unrelated to the trip to Colombia.

Kettler’s brief time in office highlights the difficulties the Duke and Duchess have had in retaining staff.

Kettler joins a long list of prestigious exits, following the departure of Bennett Levine, manager of Sussex TV company Archewell Productions, who resigned earlier this year, as well as Oscar-nominated producer Ben Browning, who left the position as head of internal content at the company in January last year.

The total number the Sussexes have lost since they married in 2018 is at least 18, with nine or more having left since moving to California in 2020.

Ahead of their planned trip to Colombia, Francia Márquez said: “I am pleased to announce that Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, have kindly accepted my invitation to visit our beautiful country.

“During their trip, the Duke and Duchess will join me to visit Bogotá, as well as the Caribbean and Pacific regions of Cartagena and Cali.

“In these vibrant locations, you will have the exceptional opportunity to interact with leaders, young people and women who embody the aspirations and voices of Colombians committed to progress.

“His visit comes at a particularly significant time, as it precedes the first Global Ministerial Conference on Ending Violence against Children, which will take place in Colombia next November.

“The Archewell Foundation, founded by the Duke and Duchess, is known for its global leadership in promoting a safer online environment.

“The upcoming conference will reveal a comprehensive framework for creating safer physical and digital spaces, addressing issues such as cyberbullying, online exploitation and the mental health impacts of these threats.

“It will offer viable solutions and commitments to countries around the world.”

Last month, Prince Harry’s charity boss Dominic Reid stepped down as chief executive of the Invictus Games Foundation.

Dominic’s resignation came just days after Harry was criticized for choosing to accept the Pat Tillman Award for Service at the 2024 ESPYS.

The Duke, who founded the Paralympic-style sporting competition in 2014, thanked Dominic for his “dedication and leadership” in a heartfelt note on Friday.

Piers Morgan on Meghan and Harry’s tour

By Piers Morgan

My favorite theater review of all time was about a play called: Why?

The critic wrote one word: “Exactly.”

I thought about this when I heard that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will embark on a four-day trip to Colombia this Thursday.

They are going at the invitation of the country’s first black vice-president, Francia Márquez, who said the renegade royal duo “have the exceptional opportunity to engage with the elders, the young and the women who embody the aspirations and voices of Colombians . . . and illuminate Colombia’s role as a beacon of culture and innovation.”

Meghan and Harry are not currently royals.

They do not fulfill any real duties to the institution that conferred their titles – they just line their pockets with money in America, constantly destroying their families, and the monarchy, in the media.

So, what gives them the right to roam the world pretending to be members of royalty, on quasi-official visits?

There are so many things wrong with this.

First, the ridiculous hypocrisy of going to one of the most dangerous places in the world — UK and US government websites warn travelers to Colombia about the high risk of terrorism, kidnapping, rape and robbery — after all the demands Harry’s tears to the taxpayer. funded royal security when he came to the UK to “protect his family”.

Secondly, his decision to support a Colombian government that has been plagued by scandals since coming to power.

President Gustavo Petro, a radical socialist who once fought in a rebel guerrilla group, saw his foreign minister suspended for alleged corruption, his son Nicolas accused of pocketing money from drug traffickers destined for his father’s presidential campaign, and his brother Juan accused of seeking payments from arrested drug traffickers in exchange for legal benefits from the government.

Petro has also faced recent allegations that he cheated on his wife with a transgender TV presenter.

As for her vice-president, there has been growing public outrage over her hypocrisy for being Colombia’s Equality Minister and, at the same time, using luxury helicopters as taxis and spending millions on a new house where she now lives, instead of her own. official residence.

Opposition politician Miguel Polo Polo posted on X: “Francia Marquez is the biggest fraud in our black community.

“She has been in office for two years and has done nothing, just played the victim and traveled in a helicopter.”

Sound familiar?

But what irritates me most is the Sussexes’ delusion that they can somehow function as a rival royal family on the global stage, enjoying all the benefits of that royal status but without any need to fulfill their obligations to their king. and country.

It is completely unacceptable and unsustainable for estranged members of the Royal Family to undertake official trips like this.

The King should strip Meghan and Harry of the titles they so cynically exchange, and instruct palace officials to tell the heads of foreign governments that they must stop issuing formal invitations for trips of this nature to this greedy, two-faced pair who want to have your royal cake and eat it.
