MEGHAN Markle’s new podcast has been frozen until next year, reports claim.
The Duchess of Sussex, 42, will focus on making her new Netflix series about “cooking, gardening and friendship”.
Producers at US network Lemonada Media do not want the podcast to be overshadowed by their TV show and are concerned about “scheduling conflicts”, it is understood.
Filming has begun on Meghan’s new lifestyle show and Harry’s polo show.
A source told the Daily Mail: “Relaunch of Meghan’s Archetypes podcast has been delayed until 2025.”
Meghan revealed she was fronting a new podcast after the widely criticized Archetypes flopped.
The US network will redistribute Archetypes and also produce a new show featuring the duchess.
In a statement, Meghan said: “I’m proud to now be able to share that I’m joining the brilliant team at Lemonada to continue my love of podcasting.
“Being able to support a woman-founded company with a slate of thought-provoking and highly entertaining podcasts is a fantastic way to start 2024.
“Our plans to relaunch Archetypes so that more people can now have access to it, as well as launching a dynamic new podcast, are underway.
“I’m so excited to be able to share this soon and so happy to be joining the Lemonada family.”
Weeks after its announcement, it was revealed that Netflix was producing two untitled non-fiction projects featuring the Duchess, 42, and the Duke, 39.
The shows are considered hit or miss for the couple as part of their £100 million Netflix deal.
But four-year-old Archie and two-year-old Lilibet won’t be appearing either.
Meg’s show – which reportedly “celebrates the joys of cooking and gardening, entertaining and friendship” – is not being filmed at the couple’s £11million home.
Instead, camera crews were seen at a neighbor’s home in Montecito, California.
This came shortly after Meghan launched her new brand American Riviera Orchard focusing on home, food, gardening and lifestyle products.
The first glimpse of the brand was revealed when Meghan handed out beautifully packaged gift baskets to friends and influencers ahead of the launch.
Meanwhile, Harry is working on a TV series about polo.
Harry and Meghan’s business fails
He was spotted filming at the Royal Salute Polo Challenge for the Sentebale charity fundraiser in Florida.
The couple have vowed to stop trashing the royals after previous series Harry and Meghan in 2022.
Released in two parts, the explosive docu-series dropped bombs on the Firm – seeing it destroyed by real experts.
But despite the attention it attracted, it didn’t even make the top 200 most-watched shows on Netflix from January to June.
Months later, Harry’s Heart of Invictus series, about the Olympic-style games he started for injured former competitors, flopped.
And Meghan’s animated series Pearl, about a girl inspired by historical female figures, was abandoned while it was still in development.
It is believed that Harry and Meghan only received half of the £78 million contract.
It was said that they will only get the rest if they produce content of real interest before the end of 2025.
Comedian Jo Koy criticized the duo at the Golden Globes, saying they were “getting millions from Netflix for doing nothing.”
Meghan’s deal with Spotify was canceled in June with the announcement that her podcast would not have a second series.
It was said that the programs did not meet “productivity requirements”.
Meghan also abandoned an attempt to secure the name for the ill-fated streaming series Archetypes.
She wanted to trademark the word Archetypes, but the couple withdrew the offer from their company Archewell Audio.
Meghan’s previous show, which aimed to discuss “labels that try to hold women back”, was abandoned after producing 13 episodes in 31 months.
Spotify executive Bill Simmons reportedly labeled the duo “fucking crooks” while ridiculing Harry’s own podcast ideas.
Meghan revealed in December 2020 that she signed the contract with Spotify following the duo’s departure from the company.
But it was another 20 months before his Archetypes series was released in August 2022.
Controversy was sparked by the podcast when Meghan claimed that her son Archie had to be saved from a fire as a baby, when they were on a royal tour of Africa.
She also appeared to criticize the suggestion from Palace sources that she was the “Difficult Duchess”, with Meghan telling listeners how setting boundaries does not make her “difficult”.
The duchess also described leaving an £800-per-episode job because she felt objectified as a briefcase model on TV game show Deal Or No Deal.
Celebrity guests on her Archetypes podcast have included tennis legend Serena Williams, pop star Mariah Carey, socialite Paris Hilton and the author of Sex And The City Candace Bushnell.
