PRINCE Harry is expected to have a second reunion with King Charles when the pair hold events two miles apart in London next week.
The Duke of Sussex, 39, will be at St Paul’s Cathedral for an Invictus Games ceremony and is “very much looking forward” to meeting his father.
They spoke for 30 minutes in February — days after King’s cancer diagnosis.
The 75-year-old king, recently allowed to resume public duties while undergoing cancer treatment, is expected to attend Buckingham Palace’s first garden party of the year from 4pm.
Both events will end around 6pm, paving the way for the first meeting since Harry’s trip in early February.
A royal source told The Sun: “Harry is normally 5,000 miles away in California, but by happy coincidence on Wednesday they will be just two miles away.
“It’s clear he’s looking forward to seeing his father as he continues his recovery and most people are hoping for some kind of another reunion. next week.”
It is unlikely that the potential meeting will include Prince William, who was struck by his brother’s attacks and has not spoken to him since Queen Elizabeth’s funeral.
William will be out of the capital on Thursday and on Friday he will have commitments in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
Meghan is not expected to join Harry at the cathedral.
The Sussexes have been invited to Nigeria later this month for talks about the games.
Yesterday the King made a surprise visit to the Royal Windsor Horse Show on the castle grounds. He received a hug and kiss from his niece Zara Tindall and played with the pilots taking part in the competitions.
In the evening he returned to a display of the King’s Troop, Royal Horse Artillery.
In February, Harry made a 10,000-mile round trip from Los Angeles to London after finding out his father had cancer.
‘Reunify’
He was taken to Clarence House in London but left 45 minutes later – and is believed to have only spent half an hour with his father.
The king, who had begun cancer treatment, postponed his helicopter trip to Sandringham so he could speak to his son.
Harry spent the night in a hotel and returned to the US the next day.
The Sun revealed on Sunday that he was prevented from joining his father in Norfolk for fear “they would never get rid of him”. February was the first time Harry had met his father since last May’s coronation.
He and Meghan left the United Kingdom for North America after stepping down as senior royals in early 2020.
Any illness and disease unites the family
torment
They have settled in Montecito with their son Archie, who turns five on Monday, and daughter Lilibet, two.
Harry has not returned to the UK with his family since the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in June 2022. He and Meghan aimed to resolve any differences with the royals in a year of reconciliation in 2023.
But they continued to make ill-judged attacks in their Netflix series, in Harry’s memoir Spare and in TV interviews.
Harry recently told ABC’s Good Morning America that his latest visit to the king could have a “reunifying” effect, responding: “Yes, I’m sure.”
He added: “Any illness and disease brings the family together.”
Buckingham Palace declined to comment yesterday.
