PRINCE Harry avoiding Prince William on his latest visit to the UK is a sign of how troubled their relationship is, a royal expert has claimed.

The Duke of Sussex, 39, is set to travel to the UK next week for an Invictus Games event with Meghan is expected to stay in California.

But it remains to be seen whether the Duke will visit his brother after their relationship has become increasingly strained over the years.

Harry left the royal family four years ago and has since made a series of shocking allegations about William.

Their relationship only got worse after the Sussexes made a series of accusations against the Royal Family in their Netflix docuseries.

Harry and William were last seen together at King Charles’ coronation last May, but they were seated apart and the duke quickly escaped.

RELUCTANT BROTHERS

Now ITV News royal correspondent Chris Ship has told The Sun’s new royals show that the brothers’ reluctance to see each other speaks volumes.

Chris said The Sun’s Royal Exclusive Show: “As long as he’s here, will he see his father? Will he meet his brother?

“That’s what everyone will ask.

“At the time of Charles’ cancer announcement, Harry had been here for 24 to 36 hours and had not seen his brother.

“You would think that two brothers, whatever their differences, would be able to get together and say, ‘Daddy just told the world he has cancer, let’s talk about how we can put our own differences aside.’

“But they didn’t and now with Kate’s diagnosis, this is the time for Harry and William to be grown up and put all that aside and get together for everyone’s sake and have a chat.”

Chris added: “Relationships are very difficult within the family.

“William and Harry used to be good friends, then everything fell apart.”

If Meghan isn’t there, Harry and King Charles MUST see each other – it would give the king a huge boost

Harry will attend the Thanksgiving Service at St Paul’s Cathedral on Wednesday 8 May as part of the tour.

It comes after claims that Meghan would not go on the transatlantic trip with Harry for fear of being met with a “hostile reception”.

Richard Fitzwilliams previously told The Sun that “the Sussexes do not have the trust of the Royal Family” and he is not surprised that Meghan will not arrive in London with Harry.

Is this the time for Harry and William to be big boys and put all this aside for the good of everyone?

He said: “I never thought Meghan would come because of the hostility towards her, but I want to say that no one needs to emphasize that it is hostile.

“And anyway, her presence at the reception would overshadow the message of the service, and you wouldn’t want that, as far as Harry is concerned.

“You have to hope that everyone is interested in resolving the dispute, so I hope that can happen.

“But this will happen because of private contact, contact that we would not know existed.

“I mean, this has a much, much better chance anyway. But the problem, essentially, is one of trust.

“The Sussexes do not have the trust of the royal family. That Oprah interview, which caused so much damage, was actually released at a time when the Duke of Edinburgh was ill in hospital.”

Prince Harry’s last visit to the UK

PRINCE Harry last stepped off a plane to Britain in February as King Charles announced his cancer diagnosis.

The royal, however, only stayed with her father for 30 minutes after flying 5,000 miles.

The Duke of Sussex, 39, touched down at Heathrow after a ten-and-a-half hour overnight flight.

He was flown to London while Charles, 75, delayed a helicopter flight to Sandringham so they could hold their first meeting in 16 months.

In an unusual move, Charles kept his helicopter waiting so he could personally welcome Harry to his London home, Clarence House.

Sources said the king made a “significant” decision to postpone his travel plans following his son’s gesture of crossing the Atlantic at short notice.

The meeting is believed to have lasted just over half an hour, with Harry and his entourage leaving Clarence House around 45 minutes after their arrival.

It was the first time he and Charles had met in private since the death of Queen Elizabeth II in September 2022, although they remained in contact by phone.

Meghan has already participated in the Invictus Games with Harry in Toronto, Sydney, The Hague and Dusseldorf.

But she hasn’t set foot in the UK since attending Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral in September 2022.

After Harry’s likely short trip to Britain, he and Meghan will head to Nigeria for the next stop on their Invictus Games tour.

On Harry and Meghan’s first trip to the country as a couple, they will meet military personnel and their families and take part in traditional cultural activities, according to Nigerian media.

In official files, which previously documented his primary residence as the United Kingdom, Harry has since listed his £11 million California mansion as his primary residence.

It was revealed that the exiled prince changed his official status to US resident on the same day that his wife Meghan, 42, and himself were evicted from Frogmore Cottage.

King Charles ordered him to return the keys to his UK base when he made the rare transatlantic trip.

The Sun understands that Prince William supported the monarch’s decision to deprive his younger brother of access to the property.

A timeline of Prince Harry and William’s ‘rivalry’: Brothers ‘at war’

In 2018, the Sun told how the “simmering tension” began when William questioned the speed of Harry and Meghan’s engagement.

The first signs of friction emerged after William was introduced to Meghan when she was staying at Kensington Palace.

Once she returned home to Canada, William and Harry sat down for a sibling chat.

He knew Harry was already crazy about her, but it was claimed he advised him to take it slow.

The younger prince reportedly didn’t take the advice very well, with a royal source saying he “went crazy.”

Then, in June 2019, Harry and Meghan officially split from the charity they shared with William and Kate.

The Royal Foundation will be split between the Sussexes and the Cambridges, while the couples focus on their own separate charitable efforts.

Prince William and Prince Harry first established the Royal Foundation in 2009, before Kate joined two years later, shortly after their engagement was announced.

The trio often appeared together at events and the Foundation has had huge success with projects such as the Invictus Games for injured veterans and the Heads Together mental health campaign.

The Royal Foundation said the decision was made after completing a review of its structure – but added that the two couples would continue to work together in the future.

Harry and Meg lived near Kate and Wills on the Kensington Palace estate, but moved to Frogmore Cottage in Windsor before baby Archie was born.

The move further fueled rumors of a fallout.

Harry, 39, also hinted in his ITV documentary “Harry and Meghan, An African Journey” that he and his brother had grown apart.

This came after Prince Philip called Meghan “DOW”, after the Duchess of Windsor – the American divorcee who led Edward VIII to abdicate.

And he warned the late queen to be “cautious” with Harry’s then-fiancée, claims a royal author.

Ingrid Seward revealed in new book My Mother And I that Prince Philip felt it was “strange… how much Meghan reminded him of the Duchess of Windsor”.

In 2021, Harry and Meghan gave their bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey, where Harry accused his father of cutting him off financially.

Harry then flew back to the UK to join William in unveiling a statue of his mother, Princess Diana, in the grounds of Kensington Palace. But sources said William did not want to attend the memorial amid the fallout.

In 2022, shortly before the death of her grandmother, the Queen, sources claimed that Kate acts as a “peacemaker” between the siblings.

Last year, Harry claimed his brother “knocked him to the ground” during an argument about Meghan.

In his book Spare, Harry said William called Meghan “rude” and “difficult” during a fight.

Harry claimed that William “grabbed me by the collar, ripping my necklace, and…knocked me to the ground.”

He said he was left with a visible injury to his back after the 2019 argument at Nottingham Cottage, in the grounds of Kensington Palace, where he lived at the time.

In January this year, Harry flew to be with Charles following the shock of the monarch’s cancer diagnosis.

Harry flew back to the US the next day – without seeing Wills.
