PRINCE Harry has spoken about what it was like being back in the UK for his whirlwind trip.
The Duke of Sussex, 39, left Britain last night as he and Meghan Markle headed to Nigeria.
The couple will spend three days in the West African country and participate in “cultural activities”.
But before boarding his flight out of the UK, Harry spoke about what it’s like to be home.
He told the BBC: “It’s great.”
Harry was speaking when he became a surprise guest at a party organized by the charity Scotty’s Little Soldiers – which supports the bereaved children of military personnel.
The duke was in good spirits as he joked about eating three Maltesers off the ground, adding: “I think at that point it might get a little awkward.”
Harry smiled as he chatted with the young people and called the party “amazing”.
He said: “What Scotty is doing with these kids is absolutely amazing and much needed too.
“The more opportunities you have to do this type of event, the more families and kids know that this place exists, which is really the most important thing.”
He and Meghan are said to have reunited at Heathrow after the Duke was photographed there last night.
Harry was seen entering the Windsor Suite in the early evening and reportedly met his wife inside.
Just hours earlier, his father King Charles was photographed beaming in Surrey as Prince William visited a site where homes are being built for the homeless.
The couple reportedly boarded a British Airways flight to Abuja – and were seen walking on the tarmac.
They are scheduled to have their first appointment around 12pm local time today.
Brigadier General Tukur Gusau said Online Mail: “They will be tired after the trip, so they will rest and then the first fight is at noon at the Defense Headquarters.
“After this, they will travel to Kaduna to meet injured soldiers at a military hospital before returning to Abuja for other engagements.”
Chronology of Prince Harry’s fleeting visit:
The three-day trip was labeled a “fake real trip”.
Harry and Meghan, who is of Nigerian descent, will meet military personnel and their families and take part in traditional cultural activities, according to local media.
It will be the couple’s first trip to Nigeria as a couple.
They are expected to visit three cities while there in their efforts to get the country to host the Invictus Games in 2029.
Harry has had a long relationship with Africa, even taking his now-wife Meghan to Botswana for a camping trip as one of their first dates.
Meghan is said to want to “explore her ancestry and lineage” while there.
Harry did not meet his “busy” father on the fleeting trip to the UK, but said he “hopes to see him soon”.
