PRINCE Harry is the “prodigal son” of the royal family, but King Charles was “really upset” by the Spare book, an expert has claimed.

Photographer Arthur Edwards MBE told The Sun’s Royal Exclusive program that he hopes for reconciliation between the Duke of Sussex and the royal family.

His comments came after Prince Harry reportedly turned down an invitation from King Charles to stay at a royal residence during the 39-year-old’s three-night visit to London.

Harry was on a tour to promote the Invictus Games this month but didn’t see the king.

Harry is said to have made several requests for a meeting and blamed the king’s “full programme” when it didn’t happen.

But Charles agreed to host Harry in a secret royal residence knowing he did not have a base in the UK, according to The telegraph.

Harry said no because it would leave him in a “visible location with public entrances and exits and no police protection,” he said.

Harry ended up staying in a hotel, which could go unnoticed.

Speaking to Royal Exclusive, Mr Edwards told presenter Matt Wilkinson: “Harry has just lost his way a bit, in my opinion.

“I think he’s the prodigal son, in my opinion, and he has to think about what he’s doing and the damage he’s caused.

“Everyone is capable of forgiving and I’m sure – look, Harry, he’s the prodigal son, but you know the prodigal son has come back into the fold and let’s all hope that happens one day.

“I hope that happens.”

Traveled the world with Prince Harry, his behavior is TERRIBLE – it’s time he realized that, says expert

Edwards had previously said that Harry was behaving “terribly” and that family was “the most important thing in his life”.

He added: “I imagine the king is unhappy with Harry being around people where he could learn stories and hear gossip and put that into his next book or next podcast or next radio or TV interview and it seems like he’s fine. informed.

“Of course the king was very upset about the last thing Harry did, the book [Spare]especially what he said about his lovely wife Camilla.

“Because, I mean, they’re a very passionate couple and you know, offending our Queen, like he did in that book, you know, really upset the King.

“I don’t think he could forgive that easily. And I imagine the king had strong words with him about it.

“Probably the reason he didn’t want to go and keep it was because he would probably get another batch.”

It has not been reported where exactly Prince Harry was offered a room, but St James’s Palace is believed to be a strong contender.

It is opposite Clarence’s house, where the king stays when he is in London.

Harry and the King can’t play happy families with so much public attention, says The Sun’s Matt Wilkinson

By Matt Wilkinson, Royal Editor

Prince Harry is in London, but he will not meet his father, the King.

The Duke of Sussex arrived from Los Angeles alone, without Meghan or their children, for a busy schedule of events marking the 10th anniversary of his Invictus Games.

Before departing California, it is understood that Harry was “looking forward” to seeing the king for the second time since his cancer diagnosis.

It is quite telling that confirmation that there will be no meeting came from the Office of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, and not Buckingham Palace.

His team states that “unfortunately it will not be possible due to Her Majesty’s full program”.

They add: “The Duke, of course, understands his father’s schedule and various other priorities and looks forward to seeing him soon.”

Now, the word that stands out is “priorities”.

The king, we know, is busy returning to public service.

For example, on Tuesday, while Harry was in London, the king was carrying out his constitutional duty and meeting the Prime Minister of Fiji at the palace.

He is also expected to host a party in the palace garden and a weekly audience with the prime minister on Wednesday.

And Harry’s diary is full for three days with Invictus. However, sometimes they will be just two miles apart and risk passing each other on London’s roads.

Some observers may see this as “sad” because father and son cannot find the time.

Others may say that it is understandable, as they both have commitments and work “priorities”.

But perhaps there was too much water under the bridge for father and son to play happy families amid so much public attention.

Prince Harry said the king was “too busy” to meet.

A spokesperson said: “Unfortunately this will not be possible due to Her Majesty’s full programme.

“The Duke, of course, understands his father’s schedule and various other priorities and looks forward to seeing him soon.”

It has since been revealed that the king had a busy schedule that week but made changes that would allow him to see his son.

The Duke arrived in London on May 7 for a three-day promotional tour of the Invictus Games, which celebrates its ten-year anniversary.

On May 8, Harry spoke at an event at St. Paul’s Cathedral, where he gave a Bible reading from Corinthians that emphasized that different people have different gifts and strengths.

As Harry’s event began, the king met the public at a garden party at Buckingham Palace, just over two miles away.

The prince was also the surprise guest at a party organized by Scotty’s Little Soldiers, a charity that supports the bereaved children of military personnel.

Harry has been in legal battles with the Home Office over security during visits to the UK.

The prince only had police protection when he participated in royal events, according to the Telegraph.

Such instances include the late Queen’s funeral or when he was flown from Heathrow to meet the King in February following Charles’ shock cancer diagnosis.

When traveling to and from his hotel in February, the prince only had his own private bodyguards, the Telegraph claims.

He now has to give the Metropolitan Police 28 days’ notice if he wants to come to the UK with security measures in place.

Each request is handled individually by Ravec, the committee that oversees the protection of royalty and public figures.

Harry’s whirlwind visit in February lasted just 26 hours, while he spent just 20 hours in London for the king’s coronation last May.

The Duke spent between 30 and 40 minutes with Charles at Clarence House before the monarch left for Sandringham by helicopter.

Harry and Meghan have been homeless in the UK since The Sun revealed they were evicted from Frogmore Cottage last year.
