The royal author said Meghan and Harry had the opportunity to bring their children, Prince Archie, five, and Princess Lilibet, three, went to the UK – but refused to do so.

Speaking to The Sun’s royal editor Matt Wilkinson, Phil shared: “He had the opportunity recently, didn’t he, on his way to the Invictus Games event and NigeriaMeghan didn’t want to know.

During Prince Harry’s recent trip to the UK, he was unable to meet his father, King Charles, and brother, Prince William – and Meghan didn’t leave the airport.

Phil continued: “It’s the second time she’s stopped at Heathrow airport, I think in the lobby there.

“She clearly thinks she is unpopular in this country.

“I don’t think she wants to come back to this country.

“To be honest, it wouldn’t surprise me if she never came back to this country.

“And I think that’s where we are, it’s very, very sad.”

This follows the Duchess of Sussex’s popularity taking a significant hit with a recent poll revealing that she is not that popular among Brits.

YouGov data revealed that Kate is the most popular royal, with 76 percent of people viewing her positively, representing a six percent increase since January.

Prince William is the second most popular royal, with an approval rating of 73 percent, Princess Anne was third (71 percent), with King Charles fourth (63 percent).

Prince Harry (31 percent) and Meghan Markle (26 percent) came in lower on the list, with only Prince Andrew (six percent) below them in the table.

This follows the Sussexes being booed by crowds in 2022 at Westminster Abbey during the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped down as senior royals in 2020 and have since moved to California.

Harry and William haven’t been seen together for years after their fight.

Phil, author of Royally Suited: Harry and Meghan in His Own Words, said Prince Harry may regret leaving royal life and his family behind.
