PRINCE Harry has always wanted to leave the Royal Family and the repercussions will be felt for years, an expert has said.

The Duke of Sussex has lived in California with his wife Meghan Markle since 2020, after they dramatically quit their jobs as working royals and moved across the pond.

And Katie Nicholl, who is Vanity Fair’s royal correspondent, told The Sun’s Royal Exclusive that Megxit didn’t come as a surprise to her.

Speaking to The Sun’s royal editor Matt Wilkinson, the commentator explained: “Anyone who knows Harry knows he has always wanted a way out of the Royal Family.

“He has said several times officially that he wishes he had never been born a prince.

“I think he’s really living the life he wants right now. It’s very, very sad that everything happened the way it is.

“Personally, I think with better organization and a little more foresight about how they wanted to leave the Royal Family and have another life in America.

“I think there was a way to make it work. Everything seemed hastily sketched out.

“It wasn’t fully thought out and the repercussions are still felt because of it today.”

It turns out that another royal expert has claimed that Harry is “sad” and “missing his old life in the UK.”

According to royal commentator Tom Quinn, Harry wants to find a home in the UK after being evicted from his royal residence, Frogmore Cottage, last year.

Tom Quinn said The mirror: “As time passes, Harry misses some aspects of his old life in the UK.

Princess Kate and William didn’t tell Harry and Meghan about their cancer because they ‘couldn’t trust them’

“Inevitably, the honeymoon period where everything in America is new and exciting is coming to an end and Harry is looking at the past through rose-colored glasses.”

“Harry is determined to find his own permanent home in the UK, which is partly why he is continuing his legal action to make the British taxpayer pay for his safety.”

The Duke has spoken about his love for the UK before and in his memoir Spare, released last year, he spoke about his eviction from Frogmore Cottage.

But things changed in 2023 when King Charles evicted Harry and Meghan from the royal residence.

According to The telegraphHarry and Meghan saw Frogmore Cottage as the “only place left as a safe space” for them and their children in the UK.

But the couple barely stayed at the property as they now live in a California mansion in Montecito with their two children, Archie and Lilibet.
