MILLIONS watched Kate Middleton join the royal family at Trooping the Color on Saturday – and even Gwyneth Paltrow weighed in on her triumphant return.
The Iron Man actress commented on the official photo of the Princess of Wales about Instagram saying “I’m so happy to see you so happy and well.”
The unexpected message showed support for the Princess of Wales and could show she is “taking sides” with the royal family, according to a royal author.
Previously, Goop creator Gwyneth appeared to be cozying up to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry when they were spotted leaving a Michelin-starred sushi restaurant in Montecito in May 2023.
However, the relationship appears to have cooled, according to Closer Magazine.
They claimed: “The actress-turned-entrepreneur [Meghan] was excluded from the intimate Goop dinner – held at her Montecito home last month.
Royal author Phil Dampier told Fabulous: “Gwyneth Paltrow is the latest celebrity who appears to be taking sides in the Wales-Sussex standoff.
“Meghan is said to have based her new lifestyle project American Riviera Orchard on the actress’s own products and she admires her a lot, so this is going to hurt.
“Gwyneth didn’t have to make any comments about Kate being at Trooping the Color, but the fact that she did means she fully supports her and, like all of us, wishes her a speedy recovery.”
Phil added: “It comes after other well-known people like David Beckham, who was once a friend of Harry and Meghan, pinned their colors to the royal flagpole.”
Several celebrities are said to have already “dumped” the Sussexes in recent months, from the Beckhams to Oprah, Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom.
The royal author continued: “They realized that William and Kate are the real stars and future of the monarchy, and an ancient institution will not disappear anytime soon.
Gwyneth Paltrow shares rare photo of son Moses on his 18th birthday as fans say he is ‘the spitting image of dad Chris Martin’
“Yes, royalty has its ups and downs, but it survives by adapting and because the public respects the institution, although not always the individuals.
“In time, I’m sure Harry and Meghan will realize they made a huge mistake by attacking Harry’s family so much, which has alienated many who previously had time for them.”
Kate, 42, brought joy and relief to the nation by appearing in a carriage with her three children and on the balcony of Buckingham Palace with her husband Wills and the King and Queen.
It was the first public engagement for Kate – who is still undergoing preventative cancer treatment – since she appeared with her family at Sandringham last Christmas.
Last week, Kensington Palace confirmed that Kate has found comfort working from home despite her ongoing battle with cancer.
She is expected to hold more meetings with officials from the palace and the Royal Foundation and Early Childhood Center in the coming weeks.
These meetings will be present at the Court Circular detailing all official work of members of the Royal Family.
A spokesperson for the princess said the palace would only provide updates on in-person work meetings when appropriate.
And although Kate announced that she hopes to “take part in some public engagements over the summer”, the palace has not yet announced or confirmed where she will appear. next.
