MEGHAN Markle and Prince Harry stepped back from royal duties four years ago and are now keeping busy with various projects at their California home.
However, a royal expert has claimed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are becoming “increasingly irrelevant” and will never overshadow the Prince and Princess of Wales.
Meghan recently announced the launch of her latest pet project – dog treats – hours before Kate’s courageous return to public service, with some calling it “inappropriate.”
Old BBC Royal correspondent Jennie Bond said OK!: “Honestly, I can’t imagine they’re sitting there planning to make announcements on the same day as an actual event.
“Surely they are bigger than that?
“It’s true that there have been some pretty strange coincidences in the past about the timing of some of your announcements.
“But I think they are becoming less and less relevant to the News here, and the Royal Family will always attract attention.”
Over the years there have been a number of announcement conflicts, such as Meghan’s announcement Lux American lifestyle brand Riviera Orchard shortly before Prince William spoke at an awards ceremony honoring his mother Diana, Princess of Wales.
The move was criticized by royal experts as yet another attempt to steal the spotlight, with one calling it “calculated” and another claiming it would have “saddened Diana.”
Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams criticized the moment, saying there was “nothing accidental” about it.
He said: “The announcement of the new brand is entirely consistent with the timing of all Sussex announcements.”
Before the publication of Prince Harry’s controversial memoir Spare, he sat for a long time interviews with TVITom Bradby and Anderson Cooper, for the North American channel CBS, in January last year – one day before the Princess of Wales’s 41st birthday.
In a series of shocking allegations against his family, he alleged that the royals sought to protect their own reputation “to the detriment” of the Sussexes and that they were “complicit” in their “pain and suffering”.
As the interviews made global headlines, the Royal Family’s official social media channels posted a simple birthday wish for Kate, writing: “Wishing the Princess of Wales a very happy birthday.”
But the moment didn’t escape the attention of royal fans, with one tweeting: “I can’t believe Harry is doing this to Kate on the eve of her birthday…”
Meghan announced that she will launch American Riviera Orchard in March, and teased it on Instagram with promotional video, but the products are not yet available to the public.
So far, Meghan has sent jelly and dog treats to close friends and family.
According to a report from Page sixMeghan’s company will focus on content for home, garden, food and general lifestyle.
The brand will sell household products such as cookbooks, food and kitchenware.
A trademark application by ‘American Riviera Orchard’ showed that Meghan could sell cutlery, decanters, legume spreads and even napkin rings.
This follows Meghan, 42, shutting down her former lifestyle page, The Tig, in April 2017, shortly after she started falling in love Prince Harry.
What is Meghan Markle’s new business?

Meghan Markle launched a new brand on Instagram called American Riviera Orchard.
Industry experts said the site will focus on home, food, gardening and lifestyle products.
A source told the Mail: “It’s a lifestyle and culinary brand called American Riviera Orchard.
“The brand aims to coincide with the launch of a new cooking show for Netflix.
“Meghan will make and sell products like jam. And at some point there will be a book and a blog, etc.”
