PRINCE Harry has backdated his new official status as a US resident to the exact day he and his wife Meghan were expelled from their UK base.

Royal experts suggested last night that Harry, 39, was making a point of being “deeply hurt” by the order to leave Frogmore Cottage.

In an update to Company House records presented this week, the Duke of Sussex declared the United States his “new country” of residence.

He and Meghan, 42, moved to California in 2020 after deciding to leave Britain and step down as senior royals.

However, in business documents filed with his eco-friendly company Travalyst, Harry said he has resided in the US since June 29 last year.

That was the day his father King Charles – supported by Harry’s brother William – ordered him to return the keys to his Windsor hideout.

Royal author Phil Dampier believes it is a sign that Harry – who has launched several attacks on the Royal Family – has cut ties with the UK.

He said last night: “As is always the case with Harry, a lot can be read into his actions.

“Being thrown out of Frogmore Cottage hurt him deeply.

“Charles and William knew this needed to be done to emphasize that Harry and Meghan were outside the Firm, but he probably still thought he could maintain a base here. Now he has shown that he accepts that his life is in the USA.”

Harry said this year that he had “considered” US citizenship, which would mean renouncing his royal titles.

Dampier believes he may never live in the UK again and said he will not be missed.

Major update in Prince Harry’s ‘drug use’ case as Duke’s US visa documents are handed over to judge

The British public “has lost respect for him and regards him as the Prince of idleness and division”, he added.

Harry founded Travalyst in 2019 and previously listed himself as resident in the UK.

He’s about to return next month for the celebration of the ten year anniversary of its Invictus Games.

Last week, the US government handed over his previous visa application to a court amid allegations that he lied.

Harry confessed last year to drug use, which must be declared.

US presidential candidate Donald Trump warned: “If he lied, they will have to take appropriate action.”

HARRY’S LINE OF SIGHT

The main facts:

Harry claimed in his memoir Spare that he took cocaine, marijuana and magic mushrooms.

A conservative think tank called the Heritage Foundation says the allegations of drug use call Harry’s immigration status into question.

They took the US government to court demanding the Duke’s visa application be made public, to see if he lied about his past drug use.

If he lied, Harry could violate US federal law.

Government lawyers argue that releasing such documents would violate Harry’s privacy and security.
