Meghan ‘doesn’t seem to care about her dad – she did the most surprising thing after he had a stroke’, says Tom Bower

MEGHAN Markle “doesn’t seem to care” about her father – and acted “surprisingly” after his stroke, a royal expert has claimed.

Royal biographer Tom Bower has made shocking claims that the Duchess of Sussex has “moved on” and doesn’t seem to give “a damn… whether he’s frankly alive or dead.”

The commentator, famous for his harsh criticism of the Sussexes, spoke to Sun Royal editor Matt Wilkinson on Royal Exclusive Show.

He shared surprising allegations about Meghan, 42, and her father, Thomas Markle, 79.

“I feel very sorry for him, he is a very decent man, very hard working, he was a wonderful father,” Bower said.

“Meghan owes him a lot and she treated him terribly. She treated him in a way that is completely unjustified.

“And there he is, sitting in a pretty shabby cabin in New Mexico and he doesn’t deserve what she got.”

Bower also claimed that “no one came to help” Thomas after he was “besieged” by journalists.

“Even when he had a heart attack and couldn’t make it to the wedding, there was no one to help him,” the royal expert said.

“I think the Palace behaved appallingly towards him, abandoned him, I think largely because Harry and Meghan themselves thought he was someone who could be ignored,” he continued.

“This was a great tragedy for him. And I think for the royal family too.”

‘SURPRISING’

In particularly scathing comments, even for a longtime critic of the couple, Bower claimed that the Duke and Duchess “don’t seem to care” whether Thomas is “dead or alive.”

“It’s too late, the Sussexes have moved on, they don’t care anymore, he is frankly dead or alive and they would probably prefer him to disappear,” he said.

The expert, who scathingly attacked the Duke and Duchess in his book Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the War Between the Windsors, also claimed that the humanitarian work carried out by the pair “is really just a puff piece for them”.

Harry is recognized worldwide for his incredible work during the Invictus Games – for which he was honored with the Pat Tillman Service Award this month.

Meanwhile, Meghan also received the Ms Foundation Women of Vision award for her efforts in fighting for equality.

However, Bower said: “They have no compassion for a man who deserves it and unfortunately it will get worse as he gets older and sicker.

“That was the most surprising thing, when he had his stroke, Meghan left her home in Montecito, but she didn’t go to Mexico to see her father, but rather to the site of a school shooting.

“It was all clear on camera.”

It comes after the same royal expert also shockingly claimed Meghan is a “poisonous agent”.

Thomas has been estranged from his daughter since he suffered two heart attacks on the eve of his wedding to Harry.

The 80-year-old was unable to walk her down the aisle and they have not been in contact since.

More turmoil between the two erupted after Thomas posed for paparazzi photos before Harry and Meghan tied the knot.

However, Meghan has already shared the hurt and “betrayal she felt” from her father.

She opened up about her relationship with her estranged father and said she was devastated when he lied to her about not speaking to the media.

In her sensational 2021 interview with Oprah, Meghan said: “I’m trying to decide if I feel comfortable talking about it.

“It was… if we used the word betrayal.”

“Because when I asked him, when the communications team told us, this is a story that was going to come out, which, by the way, the tabloids apparently already knew about a month ago and decided to postpone until the end. Sunday before our wedding because they wanted to create drama, which is also a key point in all of this.

“We called my dad and I asked him and he said, no, absolutely not.

“I said, you know, the institution has never intervened in anything for us, but they can try to come in and kill this story.

“But if they do it once, we won’t be able to use the same influence to protect our own children one day.”

Oprah then said, “He said no, absolutely not. He wasn’t talking to them. So he basically lied to you.

Meghan added: “Well, so when I said we’re not going to be able to protect our own children one day and I said, I just need you to tell me.

“And if you tell me the truth, we can help. And he wasn’t able to do that. And that for me really resonated, especially now as a mom.

“And also me saying period, if we use this to protect you, (we) will not be able to protect our own children one day.

“I’m talking about your grandchildren.

“I look at Archie. I think about this child and I really can’t imagine doing anything that would intentionally cause pain to my child.

“I can not imagine. So it’s hard for me to reconcile that.”
