It’s no surprise Prince Harry wanted an invite to the world’s most expensive wedding, a royal expert says.
Earlier this month, Anant Ambani, son of India’s richest man, married pharmaceutical heiress Radhika Merchant in Mumbai.
And Harry is said to be “hoping to pop” as the four-month global wedding tour heads to a prestigious country club in Slough.
It comes after the jaw-dropping £563million mega-nuptial saw 5,000 of the richest guests celebrate together.
The Ambanis hired 100 jets to fly guests from across the world and also booked them into five-star hotels.
Celebrities in attendance included Kim and Khloe Kardashian, Boris Johnson and his wife Carrie and former PM Tony Blair and his wife Cherie.
Celebrations kicked off with a £126 million pre-wedding party in March, at which Rihanna and Akon performed in front of 1,200 guests.
Then came a £94.5 million Mediterranean cruise for 800 guests, with performances from Katy Perry, Backstreet Boys and Pitbull.
Now royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams has shared how it’s no surprise the former duke was keen to get on the guest list.
He told The Sun: “I think what’s linked to this report about Harry, I think it’s linked to the Sussexes’ desperate desire to be seen in what we would call an event list.
“I would say, for example, in Hollywood, if you look at the list, let’s say of those who in one way or another have supported the royal family recently.
“There are a number of celebrities who are interested in or support the royals.”
The expert explained how Tom Cruise became a member of royalty after appearing at several events.
“We’ve had Tom Cruise at several royal events, actually.
“There’s no doubt about that. He’s very attached to royalty.”
Fitwilliams also addressed the rumors swirling around an alleged feud between the Sussexes and the Beckhams.
“The Beckhams were reportedly close to Harry and Meghan, and also reports have been pretty consistent that the couples have fallen out,” the royal expert said.
“That had something to do with the way David Beckham was looked down upon or felt.”
Richard isn’t sure if the Sussexes will show up at the much-anticipated party.
He said: “So Harry will attend?

The world’s most expensive wedding party – on a four-month global tour – is heading to Slough.
Over the next two months, guests including Prince Harry and former Prime Minister Boris Johnson are expected to join the £563m celebrations.
Anant Ambani, son of India’s richest man and pharmaceutical heiress Radhika Merchant, got married in Mumbai earlier this month.
And they have booked historic Stoke Park, near Slough, Berks, until September.
The seven-star Grade II listed hotel is owned by the groom’s father, Mukesh Ambani.
Around 850 golf club members have been warned to stay away.
A source told The Sun: “The Ambanis don’t do things by halves and so they didn’t think about booking the whole place for two months.
“The cost is chicken feed for them. The bride and groom and their families will participate in several parties planned until September.
“Security, which is tight, has been informed to expect Boris Johnson, Tony and Cherie Blair. Prince Harry is also said to be hoping to make an appearance.
Stoke Park was bought by Mukesh Ambani – who is the ninth richest man in the world – for £57 million in 2021.
“We’ll have to see, of course, but the reason for the rumors is very clearly the fact that you have something that is very spectacular, and like Brooklyn Beckham’s wedding, it’s the kind of thing they would like to do. appearance in.”
The royal expert added that his charity, Archewell, hasn’t gained much attention in Hollywood and has yet to show “much interest in relation to the rich list.”
It comes after Ambani’s wedding sparked as much controversy as curiosity in the poverty-stricken country.
Rihanna is said to have been paid £5 million for her 90-minute performance, with the entire event coming in at £126 million.
The weekend’s festivities kicked off at the Ambani family’s 27-storey complex, worth £780 million and containing three helipads, a 160-car garage and a private cinema.
Expert weavers worked for months creating around 100 rare silk sarees using gold and silver thread – valued at more than £100,000 each.
Wedding guests were also required to bring five changes of clothing that adhered to a whopping 18-page dress code.
Kim Kardashian was seen in a glamorous lehenga with intricate details – and a nose chain to match – while Khloe opted for a pink number during the day, swapping for a pretty white and gold ensemble later on.
Meanwhile, the 18.5-acre site was illuminated by 1,000 crystal chandeliers and decorated with 20 million flowers – arranged by 500 florists.
Guests sipped some of the world’s finest vintage Champagnes and sampled more than 30,000 bottles of sparkling wine.
When it came to food, of course no expense was spared.
During the March celebrations, the couple offered their 1,000 guests 2,500 meal options.
Although they spent millions on their big day, Anant and Radhika are expected to get back over £100 million in gifts from their guests.
Anant’s father, who is worth £100 billion and is listed by Forbes as the ninth richest man in the world, has already bought a £62 million villa in Dubai for the happy couple.
