PRINCE William “didn’t want” Meghan Markle to wear Diana’s jewelry to her wedding because of concerns about her marriage to Prince Harry, a bombshell new book claims.

Author Robert Jobson claimed that William “sought assurances” from the Queen that Meghan would not wear Diana’s jewelry.

Princess Kate wore Diana’s jewelry at her Westminster Abbey wedding to William in 2011.

But Jobson claims William was “concerned” after Meghan allegedly made Kate cry during a fitting for Princess Charlotte’s dress.

Meghan later contradicted this version of events – claiming it was Kate who made her cry.

Veteran royal journalist Jobson makes the claim in his new book Catherine, The Princess of Wales: The Biography.

He writes: “When William was confirmed as best man, the relationship took a turn for the worse.

“Still worried about the wedding, he asked the Queen for assurances that Harry’s bride would not wear any of Princess Diana’s jewelry, although his own wife would be allowed to wear it.”

Jobson’s book was serialized in the magazine Correspondence ahead of its publication on Wednesday.

He describes Harry and Meghan’s 2018 wedding at St George’s Chapel, Windsor, as a “spectacular success”, despite the rows.

In the book, he writes: “The royal family were all smiles, although, in private, they had their daggers drawn.”

Kate’s biography comes as the mother of three continues her cancer treatment.

Earlier this month, Kate stunned when she presented the trophy to tennis ace Carlos Alcaraz after the men’s final at Wimbledon.

In June, the princess was seen beaming alongside King Charles on the balcony of Buckingham Palace.

It was Kate’s first time attending a royal event since she and Charles were diagnosed with cancer.

Her appearance on Trooping the Color came after she released an update on her health battle.

In a statement, Kate said: “I have been overwhelmed by all the kind messages of support and encouragement over the last few months.

“It really made a big difference to William and me and helped us through some of the most difficult times.

“I’m making good progress, but as anyone undergoing chemotherapy knows, there are good days and bad days.

“On those bad days you feel weak, tired and have to give in
your body resting.

“But on good days, when you feel stronger, you want to make the most of the feeling of well-being.

“My treatment is ongoing and will last a few more months. On days when I feel good, it is a joy to participate in school life.

“I dedicate my personal time to the things that give me energy and positivity, as well as starting to do some work around the house.

“I’m looking forward to taking part in the King’s Birthday Parade this weekend with my family.

“I hope to attend some public engagements over the summer, but I also know I’m not out of the woods yet.”

Kate added: “I’m learning to be patient, especially with uncertainty.

“Taking each day as it comes, listening to my body and allowing myself to take this much needed time to heal.

“Thank you so much for your continued understanding and to all of you who have bravely shared your stories with me.”
