ALL eyes were on Princess Kate as she was photographed side-by-side with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry on a walk following the Queen’s death.
The outing was their first public event as a foursome since the Sussexes’ interview with Oprah Winfrey and was “the hardest thing she’s ever done.” [Kate’d] ever had to do,” says a real author.
Prince William is said to have invited the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to join him and Kate inspecting flower garlands left as well wishes in September 2022.
The once-dubbed ‘Fab Four’ have not been pictured together as four since Harry and Meghan’s last day of work as senior royals in 2020, when they attended the Commonwealth Day Service at Westminster Abbey.
It was also the first time Kate was photographed in public alongside Meghan, after she claimed to Oprah that Kate made her cry over her infamous bridesmaid dress, not the other way around.
Royal author Robert Jobson stated in his upcoming book, Catherine, the Princess of Walesthat Kate did not find the walk easy.
He claimed: “Picking up the phone for Harry, he [William] suggested that they and their wives put on a show of unity for their late grandmother’s sake by viewing the floral tributes together in Windsor. Harry accepted.
“The resulting images suggested they had all returned to the Fab Four routine, but Catherine later admitted to a member of the Royal Family that such was the extent of the unease between the couples, that the walk was the hardest thing she’d ever done. I’ve ever had to do.”
Kate was seen talking politely to Prince Harry after Prince Philip funeral in April 2021, after he stepped down as a senior royal.
Robert added: “At her funeral, Catherine – exuding poise, calm and royal impregnability – took her place as one of the most senior members of the Royal Family, supporting the frail and grieving Queen and comforting Prince Charles.
“She also used her diplomatic skills to try to deal with the rift between her husband and his brother, as they both mourned their grandfather in silence.
“Harry walked quickly towards Catherine as he left the chapel behind his husband and other family members.
“Subtly, she increased her pace so they could catch up to William, a few steps away. steps forward.
“She then stepped back, to allow the brothers to walk next each other and at least exchange a few words.
“It gave the public the impression that they were forming a united front for their late grandfather, a welcome mini-truce in their rivalry.”
Kate had previously been in the same room as Harry and Meghan during the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in June 2022.
Both couples attended a church service Thanksgiving for Queen Elizabeth II but they didn’t get involved.
Meghan blasted Kate to Oprah in their bombshell 2021 chat and said she made her cry over Princess Charlotte’s bridesmaid dress.
The Duchess of Sussex said: “The narrative with Kate that didn’t happen was very, very difficult and something that… I think that’s where everything changed, really.
“The opposite happened.
“And I don’t say that to belittle anyone, because it was a very difficult week at the wedding.
“And she was upset about something, but she took control and apologized.
“And she brought me flowers and a note apologizing.
“And she did what I would do if I knew I hurt someone, right, just to take responsibility for it.”
Prince Harry spoke about his memories of the incident in his 2023 memoir, Spare.
He claimed Kate said: “Charlotte’s dress is too big, too long, too baggy.
“She cried when she tried it at home.”
Harry claimed Meghan responded: “Right, and I said the tailor has been waiting since eight in the morning here.
“Can you get Charlotte to change it like the other moms are doing?”
Kate and Meghan’s Very Revealing Body Language During Their 2022 Windsor Walk
WHEN Prince William and Kate met with Prince Harry and Meghan over the weekend, many were hopeful this would be an olive branch. But that doesn’t seem to be the case, as body language expert Judi James has revealed the real reasons behind the Prince of Wales’ decision to invite the Duke and Duchess of Sussex for a walk to Windsor Castle.
Speaking to The Sun, she says: “This ‘reunion’ felt more like an intentional gesture than a sign that the Fab Four were somehow back on track.
“The story of the body language that underlined this appearance suggested little more than a desire to do the right, adult thing to respect grandmother and father, the new king.”
And Judi says that Kate made her feelings for Meghan very clear from the moment the four of them arrived in the same car.
She says: “Kate got out of the car and slammed the door, walking away and leaving Meghan behind her.
“There was no eye contact between them and Meghan paused and stood back as Kate ran to join her siblings and greet their host.”
And it didn’t get any better at the end of the walk either.
Judi says: “As the four came face to face at the end of the walk, Meghan and Kate bit their lips instead of smiling at each other and each other’s husbands.
“Kate stepped back so far that William reached out to pull her towards Harry and Meghan for the final pose of the line-up.
“She left quickly afterwards, opening her car door and getting in as Harry ran to open Meghan’s for her.”
Judi says Meghan and Harry felt very uncomfortable during the walk – and there were a few different gestures they both made to put the other at ease.
When she was away from the other three when they arrived, Harry turned to join her and put his arm around her waist, his thumb rubbing her back.
Later, Meghan was giving Harry back rubs and “partial hugs.”
“Even the handshake involved Meghan’s thumb rubbing Harry’s hand as an even more emphatic sign of comfort and reassurance,” adds Judi.
Kate, according to Harry, replied: “No, all the dresses need to be redone.”
Prince Harry also claimed that Meghan offended Kate at one point by saying she had baby brains, to which Kate responded: “We’re not close enough for you to talk about my hormones.” Following Princess Kate’s cancer diagnosis, the Sussexes released a brief statement. support, which said: “We wish health and healing for Kate and her family, and I hope they can do this privately and in peace.”
