KING Charles may be the King of England, but he also takes his role as “Grandpa Wales” very seriously.

The monarch – who is grandfather to George, Charlotte, Louis, Archie and Lilibet – is said to be brilliant with children and loves buying them “the right gifts”.

Majesty Magazine editor Ingrid Seward told Fabulous: “King Charles has always enjoyed being around children.

“He explores his childish world with the ease of most creative people.”

King Charles, 75, is said to have a “special bond” with Prince William and Princess Kate’s three children, but barely met Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s children in California.

Ingrid, author of My Mother & I, added: “George Charlotte and Louis are the only grandchildren he sees regularly and that’s because Catherine makes it happen.

“She understands the special bond the king has with them.

“She will make sure everyone is at Balmoral so Charles can spend some precious time with them.”

SILLY GAMES

It’s not always easy to entertain children, but King Charles has a few tricks up his sleeve.

Ingrid added: “He plays silly games, is brilliant at making funny voices and ‘making his toys talk’.

“He plays endless games, which he invents himself.”

Queen Camilla revealed that they even read Harry Potter to the children – and Charles does all the voices.

King Charles’ encounters with the Spice Girls may have inspired Prince William’s father Taylor Swift’s dance, says royal expert

During the first episode of their Reading Rooms podcast, King Charles’ wife was asked: “Which book did you most enjoy reading to your grandchildren and did you do different voices for the characters?”

Camilla replied: “I think the one I liked reading the most was Harry Potter.

“I cannot imitate voices for love or moneyI’m completely desperate about this.

“I was a terrible actor at school and was never able to master the art of mime, but my husband, he can do all the voices.”

Children love their grandfather and love making little gifts for him, according to the royal editor.

And Charlotte and George are said to have given him a special token after attending Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour at Wembley on Prince William’s birthday.

She shared, “After Taylor Swift gave them all ‘friend bands,’ they made a special one for the King, which he was seen wearing for the first time earlier this month.”

In Guernsey, the monarch wore a bracelet made of yellow and red threads, in a twisted braid style similar to the one Charlotte wore in the Wimbledon men’s final.

‘BADLY KNOW’ THE SUSSEX CHILDREN

Ingrid said the King’s Californian grandchildren, Archie and Lilibet, were not forgotten, but “Charles barely knows them.”

She added: “He would love to see them at Balmoral but for once that’s not up to him, it’s up to Harry and Meghan.”

Speaking on The Sun’s Royal Exclusive, Phil Dampier shared how many times Charles has seen his grandchildren.

He said: “There is an underlying sadness, of course, because of the discord that the king is not seeing his grandchildren.

“I think he’s only met Lilibet possibly once and Archie only a few times and they’re seventh and eighth in line to the throne, growing up in California on the west coast of America, with American accents and you just don’t see them. . ”

WOOD NAMED AFTER GEORGE

Not many people can say their grandfather named a grove of trees after them, but Prince George can.

After the Prince and Princess of Wales’s first child was born, Charles decided to pay homage to him at Balmoral.

He told the BBC: “The best thing is that I managed to plant [the wood] the same year my grandson was born.

“So I thought I’d call it Prince George’s Woods.

“It’s really for fall color and a little spring. But autumn is the magic here.

“So finding all the interesting trees and shrubs that turn an interesting color is half the battle.”

Furthermore, he once gifted Prince George a very luxurious apartment for his birthday – a chic £18,000 shepherd’s hut.

When he’s not running around Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle, the young royal can play in his own playhouse, located on the monarch’s Highgrove estate in Gloucestershire.

True, it may not be as grand as the extravagant mansions he’s used to, but this shepherd’s hut is no ordinary theater.

Forget the cheap interior, this cabin has European oak floors, a real stove and a Lux sofa bed, whilst the double-glazed window frames are made from aged English oak.

The cabin is placed on the banks of a wildflower meadow in a spot handpicked by Charles – so that Prince George and his siblings, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, have a very pretty view while they play.
