MEGHAN Markle could be “planning a big political move” to celebrate her birthday as she aims to head into the US presidential election, a royal expert has claimed.

The Duchess of Sussex will celebrate turning 43 this year – as she reflects on boosting her career and image among fans, according to a royal commentator.

The mother of two, who has already completed filming her new Netflix series centered on friendship and cooking, is about to embark on the political arena, Richard Fitzwilliams has said.

He told The Sun: “One thing I see happening soon, because of the US election, I suspect Meghan will support Kamala Harris very soon.

“And I think this is absolutely fundamental, because there has been speculation for a long time that she could choose some form of politics.

“Whether or not the Democratic Party would welcome her, and how she could be useful to them, is another question, especially with the title.

“I think she was thrilled when President Biden had Kamala Harris as his running mate.

“I think it’s logical to see that happen very, very soon, and it will be very interesting to see if she will get involved in the campaign, and if so, in what way?

“I think we can definitely see an endorsement coming, and I think that will happen very soon.

“The possibility of a political career has always been there. It’s always been talked about. She’s always been very vocal on issues, especially those dealing with racial equality, gender equality and so on, which are big issues, especially in the Democratic Party.”

It turns out that Harry and Meghan joined a campaign earlier this year to warn American voters against misinformation in the upcoming presidential election.

The Archewell Foundation will support the initiative to help US voters detect deepfakes and AI fake news.

And this isn’t the first time Meghan has been rumored to enter the political sphere.

In 2021, there was speculation that the duchess might be secretly building links with members of the Democratic Party in a bid to run for office.

Former White House press secretary Jen Psaki even revealed in her memoir earlier this year how Meghan sent American first lady Jill Biden a box of lemons.

O Daily Mail reported that the former Suits actress sent the gift as a gesture of goodwill following her support following the bombshell interview with Oprah.

“Meghan asked a mutual friend for help sending lemons to the White House. Instead, they were sent to my home,” Psaki wrote in her book.

Meanwhile, addressing the royal rivalry and the likelihood of any well wishes sent by Prince William or Princess Kate on Meghan’s birthday, the commenter was skeptical.

They get a lot of publicity, but everything they do is news, and it still is. And of course they have this as a possible weapon in relation to the books

“The chances of William getting in touch on her birthday, because the rift is where it is, unfortunately I don’t see any possibility of that at the moment, and I don’t think anyone does.

“Actually, no one has explained exactly what happened when Harry was here last. And he and the king were more or less next door, and they never saw each other like that.

“I think that’s very unlikely, and of course it’s unlikely that Meghan will reveal how they spent her birthday, but we might also get a family photo.

“We could very well get some posts in and they would keep their fans in touch, I would have thought.”

Looking ahead, the royal expert suspects more American Riviera Orchard products will be launched and promoted.

And his Netflix show has already finished filming, with any potential success gained from this venture “absolutely crucial” to securing a future with the streaming platform.

Fitzwilliams also stated that Harry’s polo series, although well produced, will be a failure which he “doesn’t see attracting a wide audience”.

Aside from their personal projects, the royal commentator believed the Sussexes would “find an excuse” for another ‘fake royal tour’ following their positive reception in Nigeria earlier this year.

‘DIFFICULTY’

With the pressure of their upcoming business needing to overcome past failures, Fitzwilliams said the couple could “cause trouble”.

“I did not think that family differences were raised during the period when King Charles and the Princess of Wales were seriously ill,” he said.

“Harry did this in the recent ITV documentary. And you must therefore, from the royal family’s point of view, hope that the Sussexes are successful in some of their ventures in the United States, because if they don’t, we could have a situation that could involve more books for the interviews that were or may cause problems.”

Speaking about whether or not he thought King Charles could extend an olive branch to convey a birthday message, Fitzwilliams was again dubious.

“I think he might, privately, we probably won’t know. I think the divergence is such that we probably won’t see manifestations of that.”

‘POSSIBLE WEAPON’

He highlighted the lack of a meeting between Harry and his father in May, when the duke flew to mark the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games.

The expert suggested this could have something to do with “the Sussexes’ relationship with the press”.

“The side they don’t want to talk about, which is unquestionably symbiotic with the press,” he added.

“They get a lot of publicity, but everything they do is news, and it still is. And of course they have this as a possible weapon in relation to the books,” he continued.

Star support

Erika Alexander, 54, who starred alongside the Duchess of Sussex in the legal series, believes Meghan, 42, has the courage to take on big causes, after speaking out against the Royal Family in recent years.

She said Meghan has the voice, motivation and experience to become a senator – because she has been “an activist” throughout her life.

Asked whether Meghan could be a future political leader of this country, Erika told The Sun: “I think so. I think she was doing this before she got engaged.

“She was doing great work as an activist and I think she would be a great senator.

“She would certainly be a great Congressional person, and I think it’s a great way to represent not only America and the world, when I say her person, but also Great Britain.

The actress then declared: “Run, run, I’m going to do this campaign and we’re going to solve this. Do you hear me? We’re going to have a lot of fun and we’re going to wear a pretty tiara the whole time.”

“She’s also a diplomat and ambassador, so I think she should consider herself that way,” Erika added.

“I’ve done a lot of activism in my life and that’s why I said sometimes things that you would do for yourself, you wouldn’t do on the other side of it.

“So I think she’s behaving really well, and I think it’s also important that she stays herself and really starts to stand up for herself as an individual so she doesn’t get overwhelmed because this is heavy.

“I went to look at Buckingham Palace, that stone thing has been there for a long time.

“She won’t knock it over, but it needs to be shaken every now and then to wonder what it is.

“And I think because Britain is such a big part of the world, she needs to understand that with this ebb and flow, there will be new challenges and she is a challenge and I think she is prepared for that.”

The expert again emphasized that if the couple want to “capitalize” on their newfound popularity, they should avoid the Royal Family and work on something “constructive.”

“So I would have thought that if Megan had any political intelligence, let alone political ambitions, they would keep things relatively quiet in the relationship with the royal family and see what happens,” he added.

Meghan has not been to the UK since Queen Elizabeth’s funeral in 2022.

However, it was announced last month that Harry and his wife could return to Britain together for the next Invictus Games.

The ceremony will be held in Birmingham in 2027.
