THIS is the adorable moment Prince Harry met children who lost their parents in the British Armed Forces on his whirlwind trip to the UK.

Harry spent the afternoon with 50 bereaved military children and youth at a Scotty’s Little Soldiers event.

The prince is a global ambassador for the charity and spent time talking to the children and playing with them.

Harry also spent time with the children’s parents, whose partners were killed while serving in the Armed Forces.

In a speech, Harry said: “It was an honor to meet so many of the wonderful families that Scotty’s Little Soldiers support.

“I have long believed in the mission of this charity and truly believe in the work they do to advance the community,

“They create space for young people to connect, grieve, but also have fun together, which changes lives.

“I am a huge supporter of your work and am very proud to be your first Global Ambassador.”

One of the young people Harry met was 16-year-old Georgia Paterson.

Georgia’s father, Corporal Norman Stevenson, served in the Royal Regiment of Scotland and died by suicide when she was eight.

She said: “Prince Harry was the best person to share this experience with because he has been through it.

Charles jokes about being ‘released from the cage’ as Wills is seen following Harry’s return

“He understands it better than anyone. It was really touching to see how vulnerable he was with us, which encouraged us to open up too.”

“It was really a connection because when your parents served, they served for the country.

“One of the most important things for the country is the Royal Family.

“Talking to someone who was a part of this made me feel more connected to my dad.”

Georgia added: “It was amazing to be connected to him in that moment.”

Nikki Scott founded Scotty’s Little Soldiers in 2010, following the death of her husband, Corporal Lee Scott, the previous year.

She said: “It was amazing to see all the smiles in the room when Prince Harry walked through the door.

“The Duke of Sussex has been a long-time supporter of Scotty’s, which means a lot to our members.

“They know he understands what it’s like to experience the death of a parent and the challenges they face.

“It is important for our members to maintain their connection to the military community, which Prince Harry is also passionate about.

“Events like these are very valuable to our members because they allow them to develop friendships with others in a similar situation, as well as have a lot of fun.”
