Kate, 42, said her health battle came as a “huge shock” to her, following further scans following abdominal surgery in January.

The mother of three said the family now needs “time, space and privacy” while she completes treatment.

Kate, who is undergoing chemotherapy following her cancer diagnosis, also said she will not return to public duties in the near future. future.

Her last public appearance was in mid-March, when she and her husband Prince William was filmed leaving a farm shop near his Windsor residence.

But sources have since reported that the royal recently stepped out with her family, including children Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6.

Now, royal biographer Richard Fitzwilliams has said these reports show Kate is taking a “positive” step in the right direction.

In an exclusive chat with The Sun, Fitzwilliams said: “I think everyone is obviously hoping that it won’t be too long before she carries out world engagements, but before that happens I suspect she will probably be seen, and the fact that we know that she was seen is obviously positive.

“I mean, it’s very difficult at a time like this because, as we know, she’s had major abdominal surgery and is undergoing preventive chemotherapy.

“But this is a favorable indication and I just hope things move in the right direction.”

However, the royal biographer suggested it could be a while before we see Kate attend any royal engagements.

He continued: “I think very clearly the indication of this particular release of information appears to be positive.

“But what we don’t expect is, you know, any real commitment or anything like that in the near future.

“Obviously, this is something substantial and needs to be handled in a way that is obviously approved by her doctors.

“We never know how the disease develops, and also one of the problems is that it is very difficult, especially for the actual planners.

“The diaries are filled out well in advance. So how do you know exactly how well someone is going to be at that moment, I mean, the answer is no.”

The Princess of Wales reportedly continued to receive a deluge of support, including “tens of thousands” of get well soon cards.

Palace staff are said to be “very emotional” but their team is struggling with the amount of correspondence, the Mail reports.

The Court Post Office typically expects about 1,000 letters per week, but volume has surpassed that number since March.

And Fitzwilliams said this support would only help his recovery.

The royal biographer added: “There has been a huge outpouring of support since his video message in March.

“The sheer number of letters and so on is enchanting.”

In her video message, Kate admitted it had been an “incredibly difficult few months” for her entire family – but was grateful for the messages of support.

Message from Princess Kate in full

I wanted to take this opportunity to personally thank you for all your wonderful messages of support and your understanding as I recovered from surgery.

It has been an incredibly difficult few months for our whole family, but I have had a fantastic medical team who have taken great care of me, for which I am very grateful.

In January I underwent major abdominal surgery in London and at the time my condition was thought to be non-cancerous. The surgery was a success.

However, tests after the operation revealed the presence of cancer. My medical team therefore advised me that I should undergo preventive chemotherapy and I am now in the early stages of this.
treatment.

Of course, this has come as a huge shock, and William and I have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately, for the sake of our young family.

As you can imagine, this took time. It took me some time to recover from major surgery to begin my treatment.

But most importantly, we take time to explain everything to
George, Charlotte and Louis in a way that is appropriate for them, and to reassure them that I will be fine.

As I told them; I am doing well and getting stronger every day, focusing on the things that will help me heal; in my mind, body and spirit.

Having William by my side is also a great source of comfort and security. As is the love, support and kindness shown by so many of you.

It means a lot to both of us. We hope you understand that as a family we now need some time, space and privacy while I complete my treatment.

My work has always brought me deep joy and I look forward to returning when I can, but for now I must focus on making a full recovery.

At this time, I am also thinking about all those whose lives have been affected by cancer. For everyone facing this disease, whatever its form, please do not lose faith or hope.

You are not alone.

Sitting on a bench in Windsor for the touching clip, the royal thanked her husband Prince William for his support.

His voice also cracked as he said he broke the news to George, 10, Charlotte, 8, and five-year-old Louis.

It turns out Kate is “excited” by her business taskforce’s new report, which claims the UK could reap £45.5 billion in economic benefits if businesses prioritized early childhood.

She has been following the work of the chief executives she convened last year to galvanize corporate action on the importance of the formative years of a child’s development.

The Royal Foundation’s Business Early Childhood Working Group has produced a report recommending a range of interventions, from creating a culture within and outside businesses that prioritizes children to supporting parents with greater resources and flexibility in the workplace .

Among the eight-member working group are top executives from Ikea, NatWest Group and Deloitte – and their report highlights how the nation could benefit from around £45.5 billion.

The report follows the launch of Kate’s long-term Shaping Us campaign in January last year, described as the princess’s “life’s work” and which aims to highlight the crucial first five years of a child’s life.

Christian Guy, executive director of the Royal Foundation Center for Early Childhood, briefed Kate on the new report she had read and said she was “excited” by the document.

He said: “Shaping Us was about raising awareness, but it’s also very important for her to take action.

Prince William is a pillar of strength for Kate

EXPERT analysis from author and real expert, Ingrid Seward:

Steadfast when his family needed him, William proved himself to be a man and future monarch of strength and compassion.

While he may not have been present during Kate’s courageous video speech — make no mistake, he was by her side every step of the way.

William stepped up with schoolwork and provided a “great source of comfort and security” for his wife.

But he has also been a comforting, reassuring presence for audiences.

From leading members of the Royal Family in the Commonwealth Day Service to enjoying lighthearted banter with young people on a visit to a youth center, he didn’t put a foot wrong.

But ultimately, he is only human.

Having your father and wife diagnosed with cancer in such quick succession is heartbreaking.

It is a remarkable insight into this young man’s character that he was so incredibly brave.

Theirs is a very private turmoil, which has been brought into the public arena by the nature of their roles as future King and Queen.

William must feel the weight of an enormous responsibility, both personally and to the monarchy, of which he is now the public face.

But he knows his most important role is as a father and husband.

He will make this his priority.

This is a distinct difference from the customs of the past, where your royal role came before the role of spouse and parent.

Think back to when the queen was young.

William’s priority is his family

Back then, it was a man’s world – and she was forced to abandon her children in a way that William is determined not to do.

William and Kate waited until the school term was over and their children were home before making the public announcement.

They needed to be prepared.

In this, they will have the unconditional support of Charles – who knows what it’s like to be raised by nannies.

William was also acutely aware of his father’s lack of presence in his life, especially when things went wrong.

In 1991, he was accidentally hit in the head with a golf club when he was at school and Diana was having lunch at her favorite restaurant, San Lorenzo.

The call came that William had been hit in the head and they thought he might die, so it was very serious.

Charles and Diana rushed to Ludgrove.

William was taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital and then to Great Ormond Street Hospital and Diana went with him.

But always a man of duty, Charles prioritized his commitments.

William is determined to do things differently.

“So it’s vital that eight of Britain’s most important companies come forward and make the case to their fellow business leaders – it’s exciting for her and a priority for the future of our centre’s work.”

Guy added: “This is another pivotal moment for Her Royal Highness’ early childhood work, as her impact and the work of her Early Childhood Center continues as she recovers.”

A Kensington Palace spokesperson emphasized that the release did not signal Kate “returning to work.”

They said that “…early childhood is a huge priority for the Princess of Wales, and she has been kept fully up to date throughout the process and development of the taskforce’s work and has seen the report…”
