Kate, 42, said her health battle came as a “huge shock” to her, following further scans following abdominal surgery in January.

Kate, who is undergoing chemotherapy following her cancer diagnosis, also said she will not return to public duties in the near future. future.

Her last public appearance was in mid-March, when she and her husband, Prince William, were filmed leaving a farm shop near their Windsor residence.

Original statement from Kensington Palace regarding Kate Middleton’s surgery

KENSINGTON Palace released a statement in January after Kate underwent surgery.

Sources made it clear that Kate would be out of action until at least Easter.

The palace said: “The Princess of Wales appreciates the interest this statement will generate.

“She hopes the public understands her desire to maintain as much normality as possible for her children; and her desire for her personal medical information to remain private.

“Kensington Palace will therefore only provide updates on HRH’s progress when there is significant new information to share.

“The Princess of Wales wishes to apologize to everyone involved for having to postpone her upcoming engagements.

“She hopes to reintegrate as many as possible, as quickly as possible.”

But sources have since reported that the royal recently stepped out with her family, including children Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6.

Now, royal biographer Richard Fitzwilliams has said these reports show Kate is taking a “positive” step in the right direction.

In an exclusive chat with The Sun, Richard said: “I think everyone is obviously hoping that it won’t be too long before she undertakes worldwide engagements, but before that happens I suspect she will probably be seen, and the fact that we know that she was seen is obviously positive.

“I mean, it’s very difficult at a time like this because, as we know, she’s had major abdominal surgery and is undergoing preventive chemotherapy.

“But this is a favorable indication and I just hope things move in the right direction.”

However, the royal biographer suggested it could be a while before we see Kate attend any royal engagements.
