PRINCE William and Kate Middleton often share interesting details about their children, George, Charlotte and Louis, during public engagements.
And royal experts have questioned whether this could be a “conscious” movement and a power move that the late Queen used to do.

Last week, Prince William attended a Buckingham Palace garden party this week and let slip an adorable detail about his bedtime routine with six-year-old Prince Louis.
O future king received a copy of a children’s book by first-time author Rowan Aderyn and said: “This is great, very inspiring. I’m going to read this to Louis tonight at bedtime.”
Speaking on their podcast, royal editors Roya Nikkhah and Kate Mansey shared how the Prince and Princess of Wales used to be “quite private” but are now “more confident” when it comes to sharing family details.
The Times’ Kate said in Royalty with Roya and Kate: “I wonder if it’s conscious, in a lot of the engagements we see him in now he’s quite confident when it comes to talking about his children.
“Although there was that element for a long time, it was quite private, you know, occasionally he would say something like ‘Louis likes to eat fairy cakes’ or something like that and everyone would say ‘oh my God, that’s really interesting’.
“But now it seems like every time he goes out he references it.”
The royal expert questioned why Prince William opened up more about his family life.
Kate continued: “I wonder if it’s conscious – with this kind of lean monarchy, when you recruit cousins who don’t work to help reinforce public commitments.
“This idea that, as the Queen did so well, this idea that it’s not just me, there is a current, there is a kind of generation after generation trying to present this idea of stability, stretching back and forth.”
Sunday Times royal editor Roya Nikkhah added if William reveals details it will help the public “feel a little closer to them”.
She added: “What has always been done so successfully most of the time visually with those set portraits we used to have of the late Queen, Charles, William, George mixing two pence in the Christmas pudding.
“But now I think maybe William feels there’s another way to do this.
“Sometimes we still have these big picture portraits, but there is a way to do it, just by talking and making comments to the public that are picked up by us and our coverage.
“And it brings the public closer to the idea of what’s to come next.”

Kate added: “It’s the idea that it’s the royal family, people can see that and identify with that.
“Putting her own children to bed and that shows what Kate was also doing, reading to children in early childhood.
“They’re on the mark with those two, aren’t they, Prince and Princess of Wales?”

When she is at the family home at Adelaide Cottage in Windsor, despite her royal status, sources say Kate is just like any other “normal mother”.
A friend explained that behind closed doors, the 42-year-old is “very calm at home” but is definitely not a pushover and will scold the children when necessary.
They told people: “It’s a normal, busy family home, with kids running around and knocking things over.
“She is doing this to help her children be more grounded and keep reality in check. That’s what really matters to her.”
