WHAT do you do if you are Gareth Southgate and firmly believe in marginal gains to take England ahead at Euro 2024?
You wear a secret weapon smart ring loved by Kim Kardashian and Prince Harry.
Three Lions players and staff have turned to a celebrity-approved wellbeing monitoring ring in their bid to become Euro 2024 champions.
The smart gadget reportedly monitors sleep, body temperature, stress and heart health.
English stars including Conor Gallagher and Marc Guehi have been spotted wearing high-tech jewelery during training this week.
Meanwhile, defender John Stones has already worn the ring, according to The telegraph.
He told Face Magazine in 2023: “The first thing I do when I get out of bed is check my Oura Ring to see how I slept – it’s addictive.”
Southgate has been open to introducing various developing technologies during his eight years as England manager.
Earlier this year, the FA partnered with Google Cloud to add interactive ‘Player Profiling System’ technology to England’s preparations, which profiles how players react to being substituted or banned.
Meanwhile, Oura rings cost up to £500, with the cheapest set costing £277.

While some players have worn them during training, it seems unlikely they will be asked to wear them during games.
The ring is popular among some of the most well-known celebrities on the planet.
In addition to Kardashian and Prince Harry, Gwenyth Paltrow and Jennifer Aniston were photographed wearing the sophisticated tracker.
Explaining how the ring can improve performance, the Oura website writes: “Whether you’re managing a professional sporting organization or coaching elite forces, ensure your team is always performing at the highest level with accurate biometrics.
“Use accurate, continuous data to prioritize rest, adjust training schedules, monitor recovery, and detect signs of illness, injury, and fatigue.”
Jack Wilshere’s England XI v Serbia

SunSport columnist Jack Wilshere wants Engand to start with just one midfielder – Declan Rice.
That means playing Phil Foden and Jude Bellingham in attacking midfield roles, with Cole Palmer and Bukayo Saka on the wings, either side of Harry Kane up top.
Wilshere said: “In the group stage against teams we must beat, we can afford to be more expansive, we will attack.
“It wasn’t long ago that we said we didn’t have Spanish-type players who dominate the ball, now we do.
“So we will try to take advantage of this, dominate the ball and look for goals.”
And the former England midfielder wants Trent Alexander-Arnold to be at right-back, with Kyle Walker at centre-back.
He added: “If you play Trent at right-back and he takes a pass in midfield, he can change the game with speed. Walker’s pace will get you out of trouble.”
