PRINCESS Charlotte looked more grown-up than ever as she joined her family for the Trooping of the Color.

And although she bore a strong resemblance to her parents, royal fans were quick to point out the eerie resemblance between the young princess and another member of the family.

On Twitter, royal superfan Prie shared a side-by-side photo of Charlotte, 9, and her late grandmother, Princess Diana.

In the caption of the photo, she wrote: “Princess Diana lives in her granddaughter

“The photograph of Princess Charlotte from Trooping The Color reminded me of her grandmother, Princess Diana.

“They both have the same mannerism, smile and stare.”

She accompanied the post with a photo of Charlotte riding in the glass carriage yesterday and of Diana also riding in a carriage while attending the opening of parliament in 1982.

The tweet has since gone viral, receiving hundreds of responses from fellow royalists, with many agreeing that the images gave them “goosebumps”.

Responding, one wrote: “Spencer’s genes are strong with this one.”

“That’s some really strong genes shining through…wow!” another added.

Meanwhile, a third wrote: “Oh my god… This gives me goosebumps! Extraordinary!”

Thousands of fans lined the streets yesterday to see the Royal Family – including Kate, who returned following her cancer diagnosis.

Adorable moment Charlotte tells Louis to ‘stop’ as he dances to the song

She smiled Saturday as she made her first public appearance in months with loving husband Prince William and their children by her side.

Kate looked stunning in white as she laughed and chatted with her family.

The Welsh engaged, waved and smiled at their fans throughout the match.

It was the princess’s first time attending a royal event since Christmas and she smiled from ear to ear.

In the carriage, 10-year-old George seemed eager to get his mother’s attention, telling her, “Look over there, Mom.”

Lip reader Gaby Lane told The Sun that Kate and William’s eldest son “looked so happy” as the family waved and smiled at fans during the procession.

In full mom mode, brave Kate was desperate to show her three children all the fans’ loving banners and flags.

She told George, Charlotte and Louis, “Okay, look at this,” before turning her head in unison with her children.

King Charles also smiled from his carriage with Queen Camilla by his side.

As the rains seemed to dry up in London, he told Camilla, “It’s getting light.”

What is color trope?

Trooping the Color or ‘The King’s Birthday Parade’ is a military ceremony dating back to the early 18th century or earlier, when battalion colors (flags) were carried (or ‘trooped’) through the ranks so that they could be seen and recognized by those soldiers. Since 1748, this parade has also marked the Sovereign’s official birthday.

The honor of trooping their color rotates between the five Foot Guards regiments and, this year, it goes to Company number 9 of the Irish Guards. The Irish Guards were created by Queen Victoria in 1900 and provided almost 125 years of service to the nation.

This year marks the second Troop of the Color of Her Majesty’s reign. The King took part in his first Trooping the Color in 1951, aged three, traveling in a carriage with his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother, and his aunt, Princess Margaret. The king first took part in the parade as Colonel of the Welsh Guards in 1975

A handsome Prince Louis was also photographed making funny faces from inside the carriage as he made his mother Princess Kate and his siblings laugh.

And his antics didn’t stop when he arrived at the palace.

Louis tried to open a window and fumbled with curtain cords on a balcony next to doting mother Kate.

Crowds erupted this afternoon when Princess Kate appeared on the balcony with Wills and her children by her side.

The day was marked by rain, but the downpours couldn’t dim Kate’s glow today as she smiled alongside her family.

Fans watched in amazement as the princess played and laughed with her children.
