KING Charles is being kept “in the loop” while his sister Princess Anne remains in hospital.

The Princess Royal, 73, suffered “minor injuries and concussion” following an incident at the Gatcombe Park estate last night.

A Buckingham Palace spokesperson said: “The King has been kept closely informed and joins the entire Royal Family in sending their utmost love and best wishes to the Princess for a speedy recovery.”

It comes after Anne was taken to hospital on Sunday.

The royal is believed to have been walking around the property with horses nearby at the time of the incident.

The exact cause of his injuries has not been confirmed, but they are believed to be consistent with a possible blow to the head or legs of a horse.

Emergency services arrived at the scene and provided medical care to Anne before taking her to Southmead Hospital in Bristol.

The Palace also confirmed: “His Royal Highness is receiving appropriate specialist care.

“No additional details are being shared at this time.

“His Royal Highness will remain at Southmead Hospital unless or until his medical team advises otherwise.”

The princess is expected to make a full recovery and return home later this week.

It is understood that Anne will now miss several engagements this week, including the state banquet for the Japanese State Visit on Tuesday and a visit to Canada.

“His Royal Highness apologizes to anyone who may be upset or disappointed as a result.

“The State Visit to Japan will proceed as planned, although, unfortunately, His Royal Highness will be unable to attend the State Banquet tomorrow.”

Daughter Zara Tindall and son Peter Phillips were at the property at the time of the incident, along with Anne’s loving husband, Vice Admiral Sir Laurence.

The King and Queen were alerted on Sunday night.

And the princess’s brothers, the Duke of York and the Earl of Wessex, and her nephew, the Prince of Wales, were also notified at this time.

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak sent his best wishes to the royals.

He said: “Everyone in the country likes His Royal Highness immensely.”

The PM added: “We all send you our best wishes for a speedy recovery.”

Labor leader Sir Keir Starmer said: “I wish His Royal Highness a speedy recovery.

“Sending my best wishes on behalf of all of us in the Labor Party.”

The princess’s admission to hospital is the latest health scare to hit the royal family this year.

Both the King and Princess of Wales have been diagnosed with and are undergoing treatment for cancer.

While Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, revealed her battle with skin cancer.

Princess Anne is a key member of the king’s lean, working-class monarchy.

The devoted royals played an important role in coming forward to support Charles after he stepped back from royal duties.

The princess, often dubbed the hardest working royal, is known for her no-nonsense approach and commitment to royal duty.

At Trooping the Color earlier this month, she was photographed keeping her horse under control when he appeared agitated.
