TAYLOR Swift’s iconic selfie confirms William and Kate are AAA celebrities, a royal expert has claimed.

Prince William took his eldest children, George and Charlotte, to Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour concert at Wembley Stadium last Saturday night.

William, who was celebrating his 42nd birthday, posted a selfie with the global star the next day with the caption: “Thank you Taylor Swift for a great night!”

Swift also shared a cute photo she took after the show with William, George, Charlotte and her football player boyfriend, Travis Kelce.

George, 10, beamed in a blue button-down Ralph Lauren shirt and jeans, while nine-year-old Charlotte donned a sparkly top for her big night out.

Now legendary former royal correspondent Charles Rae has said the selfie makes royals “triple A” celebrities on The Sun’s Royal Exclusive.

Speaking to The Sun’s royal editor Matt Wilkinson, attention quickly focused on the Prince of Wales’ big night at Wembley Stadium to celebrate his 42nd birthday with his children in tow.

Swift’s boyfriend Travis called the heirs to the throne “an absolute delight” on a podcast after taking a selfie with the royal.

And former royal correspondent Charles believes he is not the first person to be “in awe” of the royals.

Charles said: “When you meet a member of the royal family, you are actually meeting a AAA celebrity.

“It surprises you, believe me. It happened to me when I met a member of the royal family too.

“I’m not surprised that Travis was surprised and made that kind of comment.”

Travis also told his podcast listeners that “Prince William was the coolest” and that Charlotte was “adorable and a star.”

Speaking about the podcast’s echoed comments about the royals, Charles said it was a sign of how popular they were.

The royal expert said: “Everything has been very positive about William and Catherine.

King Charles’ encounters with the Spice Girls may have inspired Prince William’s father Taylor Swift’s dance, says royal expert

“I just think that’s what happens when you meet royals, you don’t just meet them, you take selfies with them.

“Now you can get a record from them.

“If you have someone like Taylor Swift, one of the best singers in the world taking a selfie, then that is a huge compliment to her and shows her friendship with William.”

Charles added that the selfie was a sign of the times and symbolized a “new royal family”.

He said one of the late Queen’s complaints was that she couldn’t see people’s faces while walking as people had their phones in their hands and had flashes going off.

The royal expert continued: “The late Queen was obviously a different age, but it is now common practice.

“Everyone has a cell phone and a camera and nothing is really private anymore.

“It’s a sign of a new royal family that doesn’t mind taking selfies.”

“We met the royals, guys. There were royals at the show. I got there early and met Prince William. How about that? Your Royal Highness.”

The football star and his brother Jason gushed over the “fire” of “superstar” Princess Charlotte, revealing she was full of questions.

Travis praised William and Kate’s upbringing, adding of Charlotte: “She had fire in her.

“She was asking questions… I love it when parents ask their kids to be present, to be expressive… Encourage them to take the lead in the conversation.”

Princess Kate shared a beautiful photo of Prince William with his children to mark his 42nd birthday.

The royal, also 42, posted a never-before-seen photo of Wills and her adorable trio on a beach stroll.

The fun action scene shows Princess Charlotte, Prince Louis and Prince George holding hands as they jump off a sand dune.

Kate wrote a touching message alongside the snap, which she took herself, which read: “Happy birthday daddy, we all love you so much!

It was uploaded to the Prince and Princess of Wales’ official Instagram account.

It appears to be from a beach in Norfolk, where the family lives in the countryside.

The princess shared a touching photo of William with the children in a similar setting on Father’s Day.

Meanwhile, the Royal Family shared an adorable photograph of William in King Charles’ arms.

The monarch, 75, shared a touching photo showing the prince sitting on his lap as a child.

In the touching black and white photo, Charles looks fondly at his son, who is also full of joy.

Footage posted online showed William dancing in the crowd among thousands of fans as Swift sang her hit Shake It Off.

He was seen – dressed in a button-down shirt and blazer – waving his arms as he joined in on the music on the terrace.

The video, filmed by someone on a lower level, shows Swift on stage from a distance as she sings Shake It Off before turning to William shaking her arms and torso.

A post on X adds: “Prince William, being a girl from 1989, is taking me OUT.”

William previously shared the stage with Swift at Kensington Palace in 2013 to perform Bon Jovi’s Livin’ On A Prayer for a charity event.

He later said he obeyed “like a puppy” the singer’s request for him to join her.

He revealed in a 2021 interview: “I can’t believe I’m actually telling you this story – I show up and Jon Bon Jovi and Taylor Swift are at the event, which almost knocked me over.

“And then I went in, I met everyone, a lot of handshakes on those nights, a lot of chatting. I try to be charming and interactive.

“She puts her hand on my arm, looks me in the eye and says, ‘Come on, William – let’s sing’.”

He added that he was “cringing” just remembering the incident.
