Meanwhile, Alan Shearer stormed into England after a painful 1-1 draw with Denmark – and revealed the player he would sign to help Harry Kane.
The Three Lions legend insisted there “can be no excuses” for a Euro 2024 performance “without energy, without rhythm”.
Kane’s opening goal in Frankfurt was countered by Morten Hjulmand’s shock strike – with Shearer claiming the Danes deserved more than their point.
England are still two points clear in Group C, meaning they are likely to qualify after Tuesday’s clash with Slovenia.
And captain Kane appealed for “calm” – while admitting there would be “noise” as well as “disappointment” with Thursday’s performance.
However, Shearer believes the display offered nothing encouraging.
The BBC commentator said after the final whistle: “You can see the players lying on their backs, they look absolutely devastated.
“There is no excuse for this. No energy, no game rhythm.
“We were only behind in the last 10 or 15 minutes.
“We were caught with the ball a lot of times, a lot of bad passes.
“And actually, Denmark were the better team and deserved to win. There’s a lot more to come. It’s really worrying.”
Shearer also reckons England have a tactical problem regarding Kane – and feels he has the answer.
The former Newcastle hero said: “He needs players in and around him. That’s why I would have (Anthony) Gordon on the team.
“He’s got energy, he’s got the ability to chase, he’s got the ability to run and get close to him, whereas (Phil) Foden wants to play tight, play in the number 10 role, very much like Harry.”
“He (Kane) is a brilliant goalscorer, he will always score goals, but what he lacks is a meter of pace and energy.”
Striker Kane told the BBC: “We know we can improve, we know there will be a bit of noise and disappointment at home.
“But it’s time to stay calm and we’ll get there step by step.”
