Princess Anne was rushed to Southmead Hospital in Bristol with a head injury following an “impact with the head or legs of a horse”.

Buckingham Palace confirmed that she was taken to the specialist hospital “as a precautionary measure for observation and is expected to make a full and speedy recovery”.

Southmead Hospital is part of the North Bristol NHS Trust and has a number of key specialties, including neuroscience.

The Institute of Neuroscience is based in the hospital’s Brunel building and is a regional center providing specialist services to a wide range of spectrum of neurological conditions.

Southmead Hospital is also home to the Severn Major Trauma Network’s (SMTN) only adult major trauma center (MTC).

The center operates alongside six other units located in the Southwest.

The hospital’s orthopedic department comprises the Avon Orthopedic Center, one of the largest centers of its kind in the region, which performs approximately 1,000 knee replacements per year.

Elsewhere, North Bristol NHS Trust is a center of excellence in the South West for plastic and reconstructive surgery, with Southmead Hospital’s service among one of the largest in England.

His main specialties include burns, skin cancer and breast reconstruction, among others.

Anne’s commitments this week have been canceled and it is understood she will not be able to fly to Canada for a planned trip.

Buckingham Palace said: “His Royal Highness is receiving appropriate specialist care. No additional details are being shared at this time.

Princess Anne shrugs as the Queen calls out to her during Donald Trump’s greeting

“Her Royal Highness will remain at Southmead Hospital unless or until her medical team advises otherwise.

“On the advice of doctors, His Royal Highness’s appointments for next week will be postponed.

“His Royal Highness apologizes to anyone who may be upset or disappointed as a result.

“The State Visit to Japan will proceed as planned, although, unfortunately, His Royal Highness will be unable to attend the State Banquet tomorrow.”

The princess is expected to make a full recovery and return home later this week.

Who is Princess Anne?

PRINCESS Anne was born on August 15, 1950, at Clarence House, London.

She is the second daughter and only daughter of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip.

She is sixteenth in line to the throne and holds the title of Princess Royal.

After finishing her studies at Benenden School, she began her sporting career as an equestrian.

She was the first member of the Royal Family to compete at the Olympic Games when she represented Great Britain in 1976.

This came after she won a gold medal in 1971 and two silver medals in 1975 at the European CCE Championships.

At the 1976 Montreal Olympics, Princess Anne rode her mother’s horse, Goodwill, during the three-day equestrian event, but unfortunately failed to win a medal.

After a successful career, she joined the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in 1988.

She was previously President of the International Equestrian Federation from 1987 to 1993 and now serves as Honorary President of the British Olympic Association.

Most of its charitable work has to do with sports, science, people with disabilities and health in developing countries.

Princess Anne lives with her husband, Sir Timothy Laurence, in Gatcombe Park.

The residence is located in Gloucestershire and is also home to her children Peter and Zara.

Anne’s daughter Zara Tindall and son Peter Phillips were at the estate at the time, along with her husband Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence.

King Charles, Queen Camilla, Anne’s siblings Prince Andrew, Prince Edward and his nephew Prince William were notified last night.

The princess was last seen enjoying Ladies Day at Royal Ascot last Thursday.

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said: “Everyone in the country is immensely fond of His Royal Highness.”

The PM added: “We all send you our best wishes for a speedy recovery.”

Labor leader Sir Keir Starmer said: “I wish His Royal Highness a speedy recovery.
