PRINCESS Anne’s loving husband brought her lunch to the hospital – after it was revealed she “doesn’t remember” being injured by a horse.

The Princess Royal was rushed to urgent care on Sunday night following an incident with a “horse head or legs” on the Gatcombe Park estate.

The 73-year-old woman’s husband, Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence, was at the scene with Anne when the accident happened.

He arrived at Southmead Hospital in Bristol today to visit the princess.

Sir Timothy waved to royal well-wishers as he walked up the front steps after arriving by car at the hospital’s main entrance.

Anne is believed to have suffered memory loss after suffering the head injury.

She was conscious on Monday and the struggle to remember is considered only temporary.

The former Olympian is expected to remain in hospital until the end of this week and make a full recovery, Buckingham Palace said.

An air ambulance was sent to the princess’s estate but was not needed following treatment at the scene.

She had to cancel her upcoming commitments – including a trip to Canada for a planned tour and today’s State Banquet.

Buckingham Palace said: “His Royal Highness is receiving appropriate specialist care. No additional details are being shared at this time.

“Her Royal Highness will remain at Southmead Hospital unless or until her medical team advises otherwise.

Princess Anne will miss a week of engagements but she’s extremely strict – she’ll be back, says expert

“On the advice of doctors, His Royal Highness’s appointments for next week will be postponed.

“His Royal Highness apologizes to anyone who may be upset or disappointed as a result.

She will be dying to get back to work and will find [being in hospital] tremendously frustrating

“The State Visit to Japan will proceed as planned, although, unfortunately, His Royal Highness will be unable to attend the State Banquet.”

Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams told The Sun that Anne will listen to doctors’ advice and take time off from her duties – but will be keen to return.

He said: “I think obviously, and given the fact that she is almost 74, there will clearly be a period where she will need to rest and recover.

“But Princess Anne is made with an extremely stern attitude, very reminiscent of her father, Prince Philip, because, I mean, he was considered the most impatient patient, and I suspect she will be too.

“She will be dying to get back to work and will find [being in hospital] tremendously frustrating.

“She is invaluable to the Royal Family and is someone respected for her work ethic.

“As far as Princess Anne is concerned, it is [all about] dedication, devotion to duty, and it’s basically the ethics she inherited from her parents, Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip.

“There will be a period where obviously she will be encouraged to take it easy, but duty also requires it, and she will be there.”

The former Olympian is expected to make a full recovery and return home this week.
