The King’s desire to ride a horse is especially significant. It’s more of a guarantee than just a symbolic show of force.

When Charles leads the Trooping the Color parade in June, he will be sending a message that all is well.

Her Majesty still has cancer, but is fighting it and will continue to do so, alongside many of her subjects.

Last year he led the parade and was hailed as King for the first time on his mare Noble.

She is not as passive a mount as a more experienced horse might be and it took the king’s considerable skill to keep her still.

Being on horseback is considered particularly meaningful to him. Like his late mother, the king is an excellent knight.

“He is strong and has courage,” his former polo manager, Major Ronald Ferguson, once said.

But that was before he broke his elbow in 1990 after a bad fall that left him with constant neck and back pain – and before cancer.

King may be one of the luckiest cancer patients who do not experience the intense fatigue common among those receiving treatment.

He is desperate to get out and be seen rather than being confined to meetings.

The image of the King and Queen walking through the gardens of Buckingham Palace arm in arm on their wedding anniversary says it all.

As much as Camilla has been criticized for destroying Diana’s life, she is justified.

Camilla is the new leader of the royal family when King falls ill, experts say

She was loved and respected by the Queen because of the strength of her love for her son.

She will tell him now how brave he is to go ahead with what he is doing while he is still undergoing treatment.

The King’s cancer diagnosis – and his ability to move on with life despite it – earned him the kind of respect he could only dream of.

On Tuesday, when he visits the cancer treatment center with Queen Camillahe will be welcomed as the King he has become.
