The Queen revealed that the King is “getting better” before jokingly adding, “well, he would be if he behaved well.”

Camilla, 76, made the comment while with guests at a garden party in Rye, East Sussex, where she was treated to a performance by actors Timothy West, 89, and Hayley Mills, 78, while sitting next to Prunella Scales, 91.

She added that her husband, the king, was “very angry” that he could not be there.

The king recently returned to public duties following his cancer diagnosis, after demanding his aides “overload” his schedule, saying he was “raring to go”.

The Sun also previously revealed that Camilla asked Charles to “slow down” amid his health problems this year.

Previously, book fan Queen revealed that she dreams of being a student at Hogwarts, as she helped open a literary festival.

She also gave a speech and answered a question from a local school student at the opening of the 35th annual Charleston in East Sussex.

Children’s award-winner Joseph Coelho, Tracy Beaker author Jacqueline Wilson, actress Jenny Agutter and Francesca Simon from the Horrid Henry books took to the stage in front of 450 children to talk about their favorite children’s books.

They were joined by comic Sir Lenny Henry, who read a passage from Dr. Seuss’s The Cat in the Hat.

Local schoolgirl Bess, nine, asked the Queen: “Is there a fictional place from a book you would like to travel to and why?”

Camilla joked: “One place I won’t go is The Cat in the Hat.”

Then he added: “One place I think I would love to go is Hogwarts. I would like to take the Express and I would like to go to Hogwarts and sit in that wonderful hall and wait for the hat to arrive and choose a house for me.

King Charles was invited to chat with Love Island’s Maya Jama at the Buckingham Palace garden party attended by A-list stars

“I’d like to look at Dumbledore, and Hagrid, and Snape, and see all the pictures going crazy and people jumping out of pictures and food flying, I think that would be a proper magical experience, and that’s a place I’d really like to go.”

Before the authors spoke about their favorite books during the session entitled ‘Power of Reading’, the Queen gave a speech to the approximately 450 children present.

Prince William, 41, took advantage of a speech at the Royal Society, in central London, to call for action against antimicrobial resistance “for the good of the generations that will follow”.

The Prince of Wales hopes to use his “global convening power” to raise awareness of the deadly health problem – which kills around 5 million people a year.

Palace aides say antimicrobial resistance (AMR) – when insects become immune to life-saving antibiotics – is a key issue for Prince William following his time as an air ambulance pilot, when he saw first-hand the importance of antibiotics .

In his speech, Wills spoke about the “indiscriminate” threat of RAM.

He said: “Unless we act now and together, the cascading effects of drug resistance will be felt across generations, putting the wellbeing of our children and grandchildren at risk.

“I am, however, hopeful. Thanks to the efforts and expertise of a large number of people – including many in this room – we now better understand the scale of the AMR threat.”

The King and Queen will be joined by the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show on Monday, the palace has announced.

King Charles pulled into chat by Maya Jama

By Matt Wilkinson

KING Charles was invited for a chat by Love Island presenter Maya Jama at a party at Buckingham Palace.

The king and Maya gathered on the lawn as the royals hosted a garden party for entertainment stars including Sirs Ridley Scott and Lenny Henry.

Among the 4,000 guests who mingled with the King, 75, and Queen, 76, were Strictly star Tess Daly, 55, and her husband Vernon Kay, 50.

Maya, 29, in a blue checkered dress and matching wide-brimmed hat, told the king: “I present Love Island, but I suppose you’ve never heard of it.”

The king shrugged his shoulders in a diplomatic and gentle manner and continued talking to his glamorous guest, saying: “One is born every minute.”

Prince Edward, the Duke of Edinburgh, 60, and the Duchess of Gloucester, 77, also brought royal stardust to the second garden party of the year.

And for the 75-year-old king, who revealed just three months ago that he has cancer, it was his fifth public engagement in three days.

Earlier, the Queen, 76, joined him, both wearing pink robes, and attended a service for the Order of the British Empire at St Paul’s Cathedral.

Their joint appearance comes as no royals joined Harry in his service at the Invictus Games just seven days earlier.

The king returned to public service last month after his doctors were pleased with his response to cancer treatment.

The Creative Industries Garden Party was held with the support of the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, to celebrate 4,000 people across the fields of culture, art, heritage, film, TV, radio and fashion.

Other star-studded guests included Gladiator director Sir Ridley Scott, 86, actress Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, 37, and radio star Roman Kemp, 31.

Sir Lenny Henry, 65, Homeland star David Harewood, 58, and Toby Jones, 57, from Mr Bates v The Post Office, also brought screen glamor to the palace lawn.

Artist Tracey Emin, 60, who was diagnosed with cancer four years ago, also joined the party and after meeting the king said: “We talked about health and painting.

“He asked me if I was recovering, which I am, and it was lovely to see the Queen too. I complimented them on their pinks – she said it wasn’t intentional.”

Former Strictly judge Arlene Philips, 80, was introduced to the Queen and told afterwards. “She remembered me when we last met. It was at a show after I got dumped from Strictly and she said how much she missed me, which was really sweet.

“She asked me what I’ve been doing lately and I explained that I was doing the choreography for Guys and Dolls. She said she had taken her grandchildren to see it and they loved it.”
