The Princess of Wales will rest after being super-soldiered for almost three hours this weekend – but will be able to hold work meetings.

Kate, 42, brought joy and relief to the nation by appearing in a carriage with her three children and on the balcony of Buckingham Palace with her husband Wills and the King and Queen.

It was the first public engagement for Kate – who is still undergoing preventative cancer treatment – since she appeared with her family at Sandringham last Christmas.

She was the subject of vile online rumors and speculation despite her cancer diagnosis and plea for privacy.

Kensington Palace confirmed following her exploits on Saturday at the King’s Birthday Parade, which saw her back in the sight of millions of people for almost three hours, that she will not be joining her family at other major events this week.

The Royal Family will be out in force to hold a spectacular Garter Day at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, today.

In recent years, Kate has traveled from the castle to the chapel in a carriage, sitting next to Prince William, but instead goes to rest.

The King, 75, and Queen, 76, will lead the Royal Family in the five-day Royal Ascot races, which begin tomorrow.

Other royals, including the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh and Mike and Zara Tindall, will also appear in carriages and the royal box.

But the Princess of Wales, who in her statement said she had “good days and bad days”, will not attend the festival.

Both events were scrapped ahead of Saturday’s starring role in the

Trooping the Color and in no way seen as a result of its appearance.
William, president of the FA, travels to Frankfurt on Thursday to watch England play Denmark in the group stage and turns 42 the next day.

It is believed Kate will be spending more time with her children and working from home after saying last week that she found it a “joy to get involved in school life” and “spend personal time on things that give me energy and positivity”.

Last week, Kensington Palace confirmed that Kate has found comfort working from home despite her ongoing battle with cancer.

She is expected to hold more meetings with officials from the palace and the Royal Foundation and Early Childhood Center in the coming weeks.

These meetings will be included in the Court Circular which details all the official work of members of the Royal Family.

A spokesperson for the princess said the palace would only provide updates on in-person work meetings when appropriate.

And although Kate announced that she hopes to “take part in some public engagements over the summer”, the palace has yet to announce or confirm where she will appear next.
