The royal duo will begin with a tour of the Australian Capital Territory and New South Wales.

Next will celebrate the “strong bilateral relationship” with Samoa and participate in the Commonwealth heads of government meeting.

Buckingham Palace said: “In close consultation with the Australian and New Zealand Prime Ministers, and taking due account of time and logistical pressures, it was therefore agreed to limit the visit to Samoa and Australia only.

“Their Majesties send their warmest thanks and good wishes to all parties for their continued support and understanding.”

More details about the visit to both countries will be announced soon.

Charles, 75, returned to public duty earlier this year while still receiving treatment for an undisclosed form of cancer.

Earlier this year, the king revealed the “shock” he felt with the diagnosis.

The monarch swapped stories and held hands with patients as he visited a cancer treatment center with the 76-year-old Queen.

When asked about your health battle and recovery, Her Majesty said it was a “shock” to receive her cancer diagnosis.

“It’s not that bad. It’s always a bit shocking, isn’t it, when they tell you?” He said.
