Annabel Elliot, born Sonia Annabel Shand on February 2, 1949, is known not only as an interior designer but also as an antiques dealer.

She comes from a notable background, being the younger sister of Queen Camilla.

Annabel was born in Lambeth, London, to her parents Major Bruce Shand and Rosalind Cubitt.

His mother was an aristocrat and his father was an officer in the British army.

Annabel spent time abroad studying fine arts in Florence, Italy, before returning to the UK.

She has her own business based in Dorset called Annabel Elliot Interior Design and Antiques.

The interior designer is also the co-founder of antiques and interiors emporium Talisman.

After King Charles’ accession to the throne, Annabel was hired by her brother-in-law as chief interior designer for his estates.

Annabel received recognition for her interior design work in 2011 after renovating the Bovey Castle Hotel in Devon.

In 2011, the Bovey Castle Hotel entered the Gold List as one of the best places to stay in the world.

In 2014, Annabel was ranked the fifth most influential female interior designer by the Daily Telegraph.

Alongside her impressive design and antiques work, Annabel was Patron of the British Association for Adoption and Fostering from 2005 until its closure in 2015.

She is also a member and patron of the Elephant Family, an international NGO dedicated to protecting the Asian elephant from extinction.

The same NGO of which his brother Mark Shand was president until he passed away in 2014.

She married at the age of 23 to her husband Simon Elliot on April 27, 1972.

The couple remained happily married until Simon’s death in 2023.

Annabel and her late husband Simon lived in Stourpaine, Dorset.

Reportedly, Annabel still lives in the house she shared with her late husband.

Was Annabel Elliot at the coronation?

When her brother-in-law ascended the throne in 2022, Annabel was announced as one of the Queen’s companions.
