Olympic bronze medalist wrestler Sakshi Malik congratulated Vinesh Phogat after winning the Paris Olympics quota in the women’s 50kg semi-final at the Asian Olympic qualifiers on Saturday. Vinesh Phogat defeated Laura Ganikyzy of Kazakhstan 10-0 and won the technical superiority fight against Laura in 4 minutes and 18 seconds. “I am very proud of Vinesh Phogat, she achieved the Paris Olympics quota. weight to 50kg, which is no joke. Antim already had a quota of 53kg and Vinesh knew the WFI was not reliable, so she entered 50kg and won,” Olympic bronze medalist Sakshi Malik told IANS.

Anshu Malik also won the Olympic quota in the women’s 57 kg category due to technical superiority after defeating Uzbekistan’s Laylokhon Sobirova 11-0 in Bishkek.

Mansi Ahlawat faltered at the last hurdle as she missed a quota after losing 0-6 to the reigning Asian Games champion in the 62kg semi-finals.
