Mohammed Siraj was involved in a war of words with Sri Lanka’s Kusal Medis during the India vs Sri Lanka third ODI at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Wednesday. Afterwards, the Indian pacer took a wicket and his teammate Virat Kohli’s reaction could not miss the spotlight. The incident occurred during Sri Lanka’s batting. Siraj was brought back into the attack to bowl the 39th over. He bowled three consecutive balls to Mendis, with the last one witnessing him having a heated argument with the batsman. The next ball, Mendis scored and Siraj dismissed Sadeera Samarawickrama, who was facing her first ball of the game.
The umpire was not convinced by the appeal to BPN, but India went up. Analysis revealed that the ball hit Samarawickrama’s boot first, rather than his bat. Tracking the ball then revealed that it had hit the leg stump. The decision was overturned and Virat Kohli, along with other India teammates, celebrated it in a lively manner. Kohli even gave a fiery send-off to the batsman.
