There has been a lot of talk about Virat Kohli’s strike rate despite the fact that Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s star batsman is the top run-scorer in IPL 2024 at the moment. Although Kohli has scored consistently for his franchise in this year’s competition, both fans and some experts have questioned his approach and the rate at which he scores runs after the powerplay. Kohli gave a fiery speech about the criticism after another half-century during his team’s match over the Gujarat Titans on Sunday, and former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan believes the talk about his strike rate was “disappointing”.

“I don’t understand where all the talk about strike rate comes in. In fact, it disappoints me. In fact, I’ve been talking about it since day one. Don’t question it because he’s an important player. He always beats you. And today look at the which he did. It was a slow start. He played very well on the ground.

Pathan also said that Kohli’s good form in IPL 2024 is great news for India ahead of the 2024 T20 World Cup and critics need to take the average into consideration and not just focus on the strike rate.

“It’s good news for Virat Kohli, good news for RCB, but in the long run, great news for Team India because you know there’s a lot of talk about Virat Kohli’s strike rate and form. -more average rate. He has an orange cap in his hand, 500 runs, excellent,” he added.
