Royal Challengers Bengaluru beat Punjab Kings by 60 runs in their IPL 2024 match in Dharamsala on Thursday. Star batsman Virat Kohli hit 92 runs off 47 balls as RCB posted 241 for 7 in 20 overs after being asked to bat first. In reply, Punjab Kings lost 181 in 17 overs. Rilee Rossouw hit 61 off 27 balls while Shashank Singh scored 37 off 19 balls. Mohammed Siraj returned figures of 3 for 43 for RCB, while Swapnil Singh, Lockie Ferguson and Karn Sharma picked two wickets each.

Earlier, Kohli, who opened the game in fine form, started well before Rajat Patidar (55 off 23 balls) joined him to take the PBKS bowlers to the cleaners. Cameron Green contributed 46 off 27 balls.

The victory helped RCB keep their slim playoff hopes alive with 10 points from 12 matches. To reach the quarter-finals, RCB need to win the remaining two games and hope for favorable results in the remaining matches.

RCB’s win meant PBKS dropped to ninth position, with Mumbai Indians moving up to 8th position.
