Chennai Super Kings (CSK) coach Stephen Fleming spoke about MS Dhoni’s fitness and said that the team management is very cautious about the former captain’s fitness and knows what he can give to the team. Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Fleming urged people not to underestimate Dhoni’s influence on the team. He added that the team management will maximize what the 42-year-old can give to the franchise.

“Like just hitting sixes and fours, which he did really well. And keep some of the best in the competition, if not the best in the competition. at number 9. There is a timing aspect but we are very cautious about what he can give us and we will maximize that,” ESPNcricinfo quoted Fleming as saying.

He also highlighted that CSK do not want to put too much pressure on Dhoni as they might lose him due to injury. The head coach said the wicketkeeper-batsman is “fine”.

“But we don’t want to maximize it where we lost it. So it’s a delicate balance, but believe me, his best interest is with us, and his best interest is [is] in performing well for us is still very high. To put the nation at ease, he is fine,” he added.
