Virat Kohli had a heated argument with the on-field umpire over a controversial decision during the IPL 2024 match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Delhi Capitals on Sunday. The incident occurred during the second round of the DC chase over an LBW decision involving Abishek Porel. Porel lowered his bat to play Mohammed Siraj’s yorker and the RCB cricketers were convinced that the ball hit their pads in front of the stumps. They went for a review but the third umpire ruled that the ball came off his stick and ruled in DC’s favor. Kohli and RCB captain Faf Du Plessis were not happy with the decision and ended up having a long discussion with the umpires over the issue.

Coming into the match, RCB posted a total of 187/9, with Rajat Patidar scoring a solid half-century.

“Wicket was two paced when I came in. The ball was holding, especially the slower ball. I’ve been smarter in selecting which bowlers to chase in recent games. I try my best to read the hand. This target is defendable. We can defend easily if we bowl in good areas,” Patidar said during the innings break.
