India great and former RCB captain Virat Kohli has revealed his post-retirement plans, saying he would take a long break after he is done playing cricket. Kohli, who debuted for India in 2008, is considered by many to be the greatest batsman of his generation. Kohli, 35, continues to inspire budding cricketers with his tremendous fitness and consistency in scoring runs at the highest level. In a recent chat with his IPL franchise Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), Kohli suggested that as a sportsperson, he doesn’t want to have any regrets after he is done playing.

“I think as a sportsman we have an end date to our careers. So I’m just working backwards. I don’t want to end my career thinking ‘oh what if I had done this on that particular day’ because I can’t go on indefinitely .So it’s just about not leaving any unfinished business behind and not regretting it later, which I’m sure I won’t do,” Kohli said at the RCB Royal Gala Dinner.

Kohli suggested that once he retires from cricket, he would take a long break before deciding his next chapter.

“When I’m done, I’ll leave, you won’t see me for a while (smiles). So I want to give everything I have until it’s time to play, and that’s the only thing that keeps me going,” she said. he added.

Kohli is currently playing for RCB in IPL 2024. He is currently the leader in the tournament with 661 runs in 13 innings at a strike rate of 155.16 and an impressive average of 66.10.

Placed fifth in the table with 12 points, RCB remains alive in the play-off race. They face CSK in a virtual qualifier on Saturday.

However, the match is at risk of being spoiled with wet weather forecast for the next five days in Bengaluru.

In case of elimination, both teams will receive one point each. However, RCB will be eliminated from the tournament while CSK will qualify for the IPL 2024 playoffs.
