For the 17th time, Royal Challengers Bengaluru returned empty-handed from the Indian Premier League. In IPL 2024, the team led by Faf du Plessis had a contrasting season. They won just one of their first seven matches, but managed six victories to pull off one of the most unlikely comebacks in the tournament’s history. RCB’s winning streak included one against Chennai Super Kings. In the Eliminator, RCB faced Rajasthan Royals, where they lost.
The match was at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. A video goes viral on social media from the day of the Eliminator, when a man wearing an RCB shirt is seen beating a group of people, one of whom was wearing a CSK shirt. NDTV was unable to verify the authenticity of the video.

Since the time RCB eliminated CSK from IPL 2024, there have been some interesting interactions between the former players of the two teams. Former CSK player Ambati Rayudu has been the most vocal.
After RCB were knocked out of the IPL in the Eliminator match against Rajasthan Royals, Rayudu trolled the franchise saying that passion and celebration alone cannot guarantee the title.
“If you talk about RCB, it shows that just passion and celebration does not guarantee trophies. You don’t win the IPL trophy just by reaching the playoffs. Don’t think you will win the trophy just by beating CSK.” Rayudu had said.
Later, the former Indian cricketer also shared a post on social media, reminding RCB and their fans that CSK had won 5 titles in the IPL.
On Friday, however, Rayudu made a clarification, saying that he has nothing against the RCB fans who passionately support the team, but it is the management that needs a course correction.
Rayudu, in a fiery post on social media, said the Bengaluru franchise would have won several titles by now if the management had put “team interests ahead of individual milestones”.
“My heart truly goes out to all the RCB fans who have passionately supported the team over the years. If only the management and leaders had the team’s interests ahead of individual milestones… rcb would have won multiple titles. players were released. Force your management to bring in players who will put the teams’ interests first. A great new chapter can begin with the mega auction,” wrote Rayudu on X (formerly Twitter).
