The 17th edition of IPL concluded on Sunday with Kolkata Knight Riders clinching the coveted trophy after defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad by eight wickets in Chennai. This was KKR’s third IPL title as they won it in 2012 and 2014. This victory triggered a wave of celebration at the MA Chidambaram Stadium as the KKR team left no stone unturned in their joy. However, KKR co-owner and Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan completely stole the show with his wild celebration.

While posing for the camera with the trophy, SRK made his team blow a flying kiss. Following their leader’s words, the team made the hilarious gesture, leaving viewers divided.

This flying kiss gesture was a reference to KKR star Harshit Rana, who was suspended by the BCCI for dismissing batsmen in this manner.

Rana first blew a flying kiss to SRH batsman Mayank Agarwal for which he received a fine and a warning. He later almost hit Delhi Capitals batsman Abishekh Porel after which he was suspended for one match by the BCCI.

“Absolutely comprehensive. This is what we demand from the team and each individual. They rose to the right occasion and the feeling is difficult to express. It was (waiting) very long, longer than the match. We played like invincibles throughout the game. There’s a lot to appreciate now. It’s pleasing, the performance has been impeccable throughout the game. I’m running out of words at the moment. We’ve been great since the first game, we stepped up today,” KKR captain Shreyas Iyer said. winning the title.

“All we required of ourselves was to support each other, whatever the situation. The game could have gone either way. They have been playing phenomenal cricket – SRH – throughout the season. We were lucky to bowl first and every situation was in our favor. Thanks to SRH for the way they played, looking forward to playing more competitive cricket,” he added.
