Indian cricket team all-rounder Hardik Pandya was in the news recently with several rumors surrounding his divorce from his wife Natasa Stankovic. Speculations intensified as Hardik was not among the first group of Indian cricket team stars who flew to New York ahead of the 2024 T20 World Cup and some reports claimed that he was vacationing at an undisclosed location abroad. While Hardik and Natasa have not said anything about the divorce rumors, the all-rounder took to social media to provide a major update. Hardik shared photos from the Indian cricket team’s training to show that he joined the team ahead of the tournament along with the caption – “On national duty”.

Hardik had a disappointing season in IPL 2024 – both as a player and captain. The all-rounder was named captain of the Mumbai Indians ahead of the season and ended Rohit Sharma’s ten-year tenure – a decision that did not go down well with the fans.

Things got worse when MI won just 4 matches in the competition and finished last. Hardik faced a lot of criticism from fans and pundits, with a section of the crowd even booing him.

“A lot of the things he’s going through are, personally, perhaps a little unnecessary. It will certainly be a learning curve for Hardik as he grows into leadership. While times are tough right now, some things will pass and that will make him a better leader.” difficult and will certainly make him grow in the role as well,” Mumbai Indians coach Mark Boucher said in a press conference after MI played their last game on May 17.

There were also some doubts over his selection for the T20 World Cup, but the team management showed their confidence in Hardik by naming him vice-captain.
