The 2024 T20 World Cup match between India and Pakistan is one of the most anticipated by cricket fans in the ongoing competition. The two teams have not played a bilateral series for almost a decade due to political tensions and the only time they face each other is during international competitions. As a result, their matches are a grand occasion for cricket fans and they have been looking forward to the encounter ever since the 2024 T20 World Cup fixtures were announced. However, according to the weather forecast, rain is set to spoil the sport, with more than a 50 percent chance of rain during the game and 100 percent cloud cover. The draw was also postponed as heavy rain resulted in the ground being completely covered at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.

India won their first match against Ireland by eight wickets, with a half-century from Rohit Sharma, but Pakistan slumped to a shock defeat against the United States. The Babar Azam-led side suffered a mini-collapse while batting and a lackluster bowling show meant they were defeated in the Super Over.

If the match is stopped, India and Pakistan will receive one point each. This means that Pakistan will have 1 point from 2 matches and will have to win the remaining matches against Canada and Ireland to secure their place in the Super 8, provided that the United States loses the remaining two matches.

On the other hand, India will have 3 points from 2 matches and can book their place in the T20 World Cup 2024 Super 8 if they win any of the matches against USA and Canada.
