The Indian camp was truly jubilant as Rohit Sharma’s men secured a 6-run victory against Pakistan in the thrilling Group A clash of the 2024 T20 World Cup on Sunday. For most of the game, it looked like Pakistan would get their campaign back on track with a win over the Indians, but Rohit actually got his bowling unit to put on a formidable show in New York. As India cruised to victory, even Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Jay Shah could not remain calm.

In a video that surfaced on social media, Shah can be seen jumping with joy, telling fans to make more noise. The video went viral on social media.

Pakistan, set a target of 120 runs by India, could only score 113/7 as Bumrah and other bowlers stepped up in the decisive encounter for the Indian team.

After the game, Indian captain Rohit Sharma admitted that the team’s batting performance was below average while the bowling unit, especially Bumrah, did very well to claim the invaluable victory for the team.

“We didn’t bat well enough. Halfway through our innings we were in a good position. We didn’t put enough partnership into it and fell short with the bat. We talked about every run that matters on a pitch like that. There was enough on the pitch. To be honest , it was a good wicket, compared to the last game. With a bowling line-up like that you feel confident to do the job in the middle of the order when they were batting, we got everyone together and said if it was possible for us, it can happen. happen to them. A small contribution from everyone can make a huge difference.

“He’s going from strength to strength (Bumrah). We all know what he can do. I’m not going to say too much about him. I want him to have that mentality throughout the WC. He’s a genius, we all know that. The crowd it was superb. They never disappoint wherever we play, I’m sure they will go home with a big smile. It’s just the beginning, we have a long way to go,” Rohit said after the match.
