Placed 4th in the 5-team Group A standings, Pakistan cannot afford to take a single wrong step. But what if it rains in the match against Canada?
Although the India vs Pakistan contest was interrupted by rain early on, the contest still managed a 20-a-side game. On June 12, there is about a 25% chance of rain in New York. In the morning, the chances only remain at around 11%. But things can change quickly.

Pakistan will qualify if India wins the next two games against the USA and Canada, and the USA loses the remaining matches. Even if the USA faces a loss to India, they can qualify for the Super 8 with a win over Ireland. Pakistan does not have everything in its hands at the moment.
What will happen if rain washes out the T20 World Cup Group 1 match between Pakistan and Canada?
If rain washes out the entire competition, the points will be split between Pakistan and Canada in the match, with both teams earning one point each. In that case, it would be impossible for Babar’s men to overturn the US’s 4-point tally. Consequently, a failed contest would lead to Pakistan’s elimination from the Super 8 race.
It must also be remembered that there is no reserve day for any group stage match of the 2024 T20 World Cup.
