Australian Marcus Stoinis on Wednesday ousted Afghan Mohammad Nabi as number one in the latest ICC T20 rankings. Stoinis grabbed six wickets and also made a valuable contribution with the bat to help Australia reach the Super Eights in the ongoing T20 World Cup. While Stoinis rises to become the leading all-rounder, Nabi has dropped three places, with Sri Lankan captain Wanindu Hasaranga and Bangladesh veteran Shakib Al Hasan also moving up to second and third place respectively.

West Indies’ bowlers have shone the brightest in the tournament so far and the rankings reflect that.

Left-arm spinner Akeal Hosein has moved up six places to be second in the list of bowlers led by English spinner Adil Rashid.

Alzarri Joseph also moved up six places to 11th place, while teammate Gudakesh Motie moved up 16 places in the standings to 13th place.

India’s Suryakumar Yadav has maintained his position as the top-ranked batsman in the shortest format, with Phil Salt, Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan sitting static at second, third and fourth respectively.

Australian opener Travis Head has moved up five places to fifth place, while West Indies wicketkeeper-batsman Nicholas Pooran has jumped eight places to 11th.

West Indies’ Sherfane Rutherford jumped 43 places to 42nd.
