As India prepare to face the unpredictable Afghanistan in the T20 World Cup 2024 Super 8s, it is not just the spin threat that the opposing team possesses that they need to be careful about. The ongoing T20 World Cup has seen many failed contests, and even India’s final group match against Canada suffered the same fate. The threat of rain also looms ahead of the India vs Afghanistan clash, with the weather forecast suggesting some form of precipitation in the afternoon in Barbados.

According to Accuweather, there is still a 25% chance of rain in Barbados on Wednesday. Although the morning is mostly clear, the place is expected to witness some rain around 1 pm local time. With India and Afghanistan scheduled to face each other at 10:30 am local time, expect a rain interruption in the second half of the game.

During Tuesday’s practice session, all four Indian spinners spent a lot of time in the middle. Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel and Yuzvendra Chahal practiced and all four helped Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav by playing against them in the nets.

However, rain interrupted free practice for a few minutes in Barbados. The city also witnessed rain on Wednesday, and the same is expected on Thursday.

Earlier in the day, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared a video on its social media where Rohit Sharma said that his players are looking forward to doing something special in the tournament.

“There is a real desire in the group to do something special. It clearly shows that everyone wants to make a difference and we take our skill sessions very seriously. There is something to achieve in every skill session you do. Once we play the first game, we will play the next two in 3-4 days. It will be a bit hectic but we are used to all this. We travel and play a lot, so that will not be an excuse,” Rohit said in a video posted by BCCI.
