Afghanistan captain Rashid Khan admitted that the feeling was as if the team had fulfilled a lifelong “dream”.
“It’s like a dream for us as a team to be in the semi-final. It’s all about how we started the tournament. The belief came when we beat New Zealand. I have no words to describe the feeling. We thought 130-135 was a good total on this wicket. We were up 15-20 runs. It was all about mentality. We knew they would attack us hard to chase that down in 12 overs.
The Afghanistan captain praised his team and said that they have a strong T20 line-up.
“That’s where we could take advantage. We just had to have our plans clear. We tried hard, it’s in our hands. Everyone did a wonderful job. In T20s, we have a strong base, especially in bowling. The quality of fast bowling we have , they are skilled,” he added.
