UPDATE – 9:53 pm IST (4:23 pm GMT) – Oh no! It has started raining again and this time it is heavy enough for the referees to take the players off the field. Let the ground crew come with the covers. It’s absolutely devastating as fans on the grassy banks run for cover. Let’s hope this is just a passing rain.

7.6 overs (0 runs)
A good change to finish the over, but 10 runs result. Chris Jordan goes fast and full and bowls it wide of the stump, Rohit Sharma’s feet get caught and he tries to field it but misses.

7.5 overs (1 run)
Slower, on the pitch and over the stumps, Suryakumar Yadav waits before working it towards mid-wicket region for an easy single.

7.4 overs (6 runs)
SIX! Ah, this is beautiful from SKY! This is bowled on a length and angled from mid on, Suryakumar Yadav crouches a little to get under the ball and nonchalantly lifts it over deep fine leg for a biggie.

7.3 overs (1 run)
Another slower delivery, bowled shorter and on the deck around off stump, Rohit Sharma hops and neatly stores it past square leg for another single.

7.2 overs (1 run)
Walking again, a little full on the off stump, Suryakumar Yadav cuts through a flick and flicks it with sweet timing towards mid-wicket for one more.

7.1 overs (1 run)
There’s that skidding jump once again. Chris Jordan immediately bowls the slowest delivery, at just 117.6 kmph, and drags it outside off stump. Rohit Sharma is a little surprised but takes it and flicks it in front of mid-wicket for a single.

Just the one that ended for Sam Curran in his opening spell. He is replaced by Chris Jordan.

6.6 overs (0 runs)
Kind of an appeal for BPN, but it seems to be slipping. Adil Rashid slows this one down and throws it at just 76 km/h and hits it on the legs. Suryakumar Yadav plays and gets hit on the pads.

6.5 overs (1 run)
Flighted up, a little fuller and rounder, Rohit Sharma leans in and strokes it well down for a single.

6.4 overs (0 runs)
Shortens the length and spins it around off stump, Rohit Sharma goes back to his crease and pushes it into the covers.

6.3 overs (4 runs)
FOUR! The conventional sweep is now perfect! Floated on middle and leg, Rohit Sharma takes a knee and goes past the vacant 45 region on the leg side for another boundary. India is rolling well now.

6.2 overs (0 runs)
Gets this one on the pads, Rohit Sharma looks to lean in and hit it but misses and uses it on the pads.

The rain increased and the two referees on the field came together. The field team is close to the ropes with the covers but the umpires have decided that the game will continue.

6.1 overs (4 runs)
FOUR! Well marked, but Jofra Archer should have done better there. It starts at full tilt and on the stumps, Rohit Sharma brings out the cheeky reverse paddle and hits it very well. Archer chases it and tries to throw it back but doesn’t get low enough and the ball slips out of his hands and onto the ropes. 50 for India!

First, watch the spin when Adil Rashid comes to bowl.

5.6 overs (0 runs)
Sharp but safe! Just pulls the length back and angles it over the stump, Suryakumar Yadav tries to cut it late but gets an outside edge that goes to the keeper. India are 46/1 at the end of the Powerplay and the rain has decided to fall too.

5.5 overs (4 runs)
FOUR! OUTLET! Very full and around middle, Suryakumar Yadav does well to move his front leg out of the way and present the entire bat face before punching it up and straight back past the bowler to set the boundary.

5.4 overs (1 run)
A bit of yes and no in between, but they eventually get the single. Lifted up on the stumps, Rohit Sharma lets it in and just pushes it to mid-wicket and goes for the single. There is a slight stutter but they run past because the fielder at mid-wicket was a little deep.

5.3 overs (1 run)
Off target immediately! Tossed back and trying to attack the batsman’s body, Suryakumar Yadav jumps and puts it behind square leg for one.

Suryakumar Yadav comes in fourth place. Furthermore, the sky darkened and it began to drizzle.

5.2 overs (0 runs)
OUTSIDE! TAKEN! Similar line and length to the previous one, but this time Rishabh Pant plays it in the air and pays the ultimate price. Sam Curran comes in and bowls nice and full, just changes the line to go around the stump. Pant tries to get inside the shot and hit it over mid-wicket but the bat turns in his hand and it hits straight to Jonny Bairstow at mid-wicket and he takes a neat catch around the face. Curran is excited, and rightly so.

5.1 overs (0 runs)
It starts over the stumps and goes straight and straight, Rishabh Pant bowls it late and just plays it to the man at mid-wicket.
